Dear ncrk4524,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Your blood pressure and cholesterol should be well controlled prior to surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hello and thank you for your question. Yes, you would still be able to go through with that type of procedure-as long as your blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol are controlled well enough. Your doctor will order laboratory tests to make sure that everything is under control, and if so, she/he will most likely be comfortable with moving forward with surgery. It is ultimately up to your provider, but you shouldn't have a problem. Please see a board-certified physician for your consultation. Best of luck to you! As long as your blood pressure and other medical conditions are being properly managed, taking medications for high blood pressure and cholesterol are not contraindications for this procedure. Schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.
