can warm compress is spread the black and blue even more through the inner corner of the eye going upwards and under the eye circle , is this normal?i have been taking the arnica tablets & been applying arnica gel some times 3 times or more a day. kindly let me know if there is another alternative to this thanks. also i have been holding off on exercising and have been sleeping with my head elevated for past 3 days

You’re doing the right thing
in applying warm compresses to the affected area, as the general rule is to
apply cold during the first day and warm after that. The only other thing you
can do is to wait for enough time to pass that the bruising has healed. It’s
nothing to worry about and should not leave any lasting marks or damage. Keep
doing what you’re doing and you’ll find the bruising should dissipate before
too long. Of course, if you are concerned after 2 weeks or so, speak to your injector
for their specific advice.

Thank you for your question. No, a warm compress cannot spread a bruise or make it worse. It is very common to have bruising after an injection into the skin. This can take up to 2 weeks to completely heal. You can apply ice and take Arnica to help reduce any bruising. If you still have any concerns please contact your injector. Best of Luck!

A warm compress would not cause your bruise to spread, unfortunately bruising can get worse before it gets better so the spreading you see is just part of the natural process. Some people swear by arnica, however there is no real data proving that it works, so I wouldn't be concerned if it's not helping. You are really doing all the right things, unfortunately this is something you will likely have to wait out. You might call your doctor and see if they offer Vbeam, which is a laser that can help with bruising. Be patient and it will get better.

Ice should be applied the first 24 hours and then warm compresses.  You are doing the right thing but it will take some time before it is completely clear

No - this is a normal part of the healing in terms of the resolution of the bruising.  The most appropriate treatment is (in general) cool application, elevation and compression for the first 24-48 hours and then warm compresses after that.  The bruise may spread out a bit as it is resolving; it may also settle (appear lower on your face) and change color.  There isn't much else you can do about it at this stage.  You should of course contact your own PS and explain what's happening.  He or she may want to see you just to confirm all of this.   I hope that this helps and good luck, Dr. Alan Engler, Member of #RealSelf500
