Is it normal to have wavy lumpy saggy thighs 5 weeks after liposuction? (Photo)

I really don't think that age is the defining factor determining whether you will have sagging skin between your thighs following liposuction.  It is more the amount of skin there is, how much fat there is to remove, and the surgical technique.  Inner thigh liposuction is difficult because the skin in this area is thin and typically loose.  It is even more difficult in a thin person like yourself because the margin of error is literally narrowed... Less fat, more chance for too much fat removal leading to indentation.  There appears to be obliquely oriented indentations on each inner thigh which may be a line that has been suctioned more than the surrounding areas.  This will probably improve to a certain degree.  If it doesn't, a technique called "Safe Lipo" could help.  I would do this in the office under local anesthesia with oral sedation.

Lumpiness and waviness can occur early on after liposuction. Much of this goes away with time as the inflammation settles down and the area softens up. The best thing to do is to follow up closely with your plastic surgeon and discuss whether any postoperative interventions like lymphatic massage or Velashape may be of value. 

I suggest massage and RF treatments at this time.  If you do not see improvement by 8-12 weeks then you will need a revision with fat transfer.  Please post initial photos for us to compare.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Patience is a virtue after liposuction because it takes time for swelling to subside and skin to retract and it depends what your preoperative photos were like.  Follow your PS and you will be fine.

A preoperative photo would be helpful to assess where you started. Medial thigh liposuction is problematic because skin elasticity in this area is suboptimal. Your best answer is to wait and see and discuss with your surgeon.

It five weeks the appearance of the medial flies after liposuction is fairly characteristic. This is not a guarantee that the outcome will be perfect but there is no reason to worry at this point in time.

There are definitely some options for skin tightening in these areas, but I would wait until the lipo has reached it's final result, at about 6 months.  You may find that some of this still improves on its own.

Liposuction of the inner thighs is tricky and, if there is an area where you may end up with persistent irregularities and poor skin retraction, this is it.  Nonetheless, only 5 weeks after surgery, there is still some swelling.  Additionally, part of the healing process involves some areas of firmness and sometime visible lumpiness.  This will often soften a lot, if not go away completely, given some time.  I tell all of my patients before surgery not to pass judgement on the final result until 6 months after liposuction.  So, I think you still have a lot of improvement to come.  I wish you the best and sincerely hope your final outcome meets your preoperative expectations.   

At 5 weeks out, you are likely still a bit swollen. This can take a while to settle and for some of the lumpiness to resolve. Good luck.

 As you are still early on things will likely change given additional time.  How much is difficult to say. The inner thighs in particular are a challenging area because the skin is thin  and does not retract as much as in other areas. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon.
