Thank you for your question. Immediately after your surgery, you will be kept in a recovery area where your blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen level, and fever are monitored closely. This will take approximately 30 minutes. After you are fully awake and everything is back to normal, you will be moved to your room. I keep my patients overnight at the hospital where they are constantly monitored until they get discharged the following day. You will be wearing a cast for 5 days and we will meet you at our office where we remove the cast, remove your tampons and check your healing process. During this visit, we tape your nose after we remove your cast. These tapes stay on for one week to help with the swelling. I and my staff will be in constant contact with our patients to follow their process and solve any problems or concerns our patients might have after the surgery. Best of luck to you.
Hi and welcome to our forum! The post anesthesia care unit (PACU) is basically an intensive care unit designed for emergence from anesthesia after a surgical procedure. You are continuously monitored for blood oxygenation, heart rate and rhythm with frequent measurements of blood pressure, and state of consciousness. The extent of any nasal bleeding will be closely observed. You will remain there until you are fully awake and ambulatory. Postoperative instructions will be written out and given to you and your accompanying adult.Best wishes...
