I had a genioplasty 5months ago (7mm forward). I am really disappointed with the results as it makes my face looks longer , narrow, pointy and it created steps-off in my jawline. I was wondering if instead of reversing the surgery, shaving the bone would be an option (a few mm backward and smoothing the steps so my chin would be less long and would follow the lines of my jaw). Is it even more risky than reversing the genioplasty? I am 18 years old, would it still cause skin sagging??? Thank you

A horizontal advancement genioplasty will always give the appearance of a longer face because a recessed chin gives the appearance of a short face. The step-offs usually resolve spontaneously but can be made smooth at 6 months.
