Some people with latent tuberculosis infections develop active tuberculosis. Before having elective surgical procedures it needs to be confirmed that your condition remains latent.

Most likely your plastic surgeon will want confirmation that you’ve not converted to active tuberculosis.

Management of tuberculosis it’s outside of my realm of medicine. Talk to your plastic surgeon ASAP to discuss.

Most likely they will want confirmation that you’ve not converted to active tuberculosis. How that is done will be determined by whomever manages your TB whether it be your primary care physician, a pulmonologist or infectious disease expert.

Statistically you are most likely still in the same condition and not contagious.
