Can I use HA filler after lip reduction? (photos)

Question

I have made lip reduction on both lips one month ago and now my upper lip is uneven. Can I inject HA filler to correct the uneveness?? If so, how mich do I have to wait from the intervention to have i jectable fillers? Are two months enough?? Is it true that the filler may migrate because of the post-operation scars? the uneveness is at the bottom of my upper lip. there is a hole at hte right side pf my upper lip when my mouth is closed.

It is hard to tell if the asymmetry is due to too much swelling on your Right or too much being taken off ob the Left vs. a scar constriction on the left causing the deformity. Before muddying the picture further by the addition of lip filler, I would massage the lip regularly to reduce swelling and break and soften any scarring for at least 2-3 months after the surgery. Then when the lip has softened I would consider the next step which may be a filler or re-excision or scar release on the other side.Good LuckPeter Aldea MD

Hi, its possible to use HA fillers to correct it, but its best to wait for a while and let the scars from surgery settle before you rush into it. A clinical examination will allow to know the exact period after which the filler can be used. Migration of filler can be controlled if the injector is experienced.
