Is a closed rhinoplasty an option to achieve my desired results and remove hump? Concerned about scars. (photos)

Question

I would like to remove the hump from my nose and maybe even have a dip. I prefer no scars. My current nose is on the left, the photoshop nose I want is on the right. Can I accomplish this with closed?

As far as I can see from your photos. Open rhinoplasty will give better results than closed rhinoplasty and is more reliable. I recommend you open rhinoplasty.It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best regards!

Thank you for your questions. It is difficult to fully assess your nose as multiple views are needed in order to create the best plan. I perform closed and open a Rhinoplasty and there are key indications for each. Schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon experience in rhinoplasty and he or she can create a 3-D simulation to show you what can be accomplished through either method. You can definitely have a closed rhinoplasty. But you need to find somebody who knows how to do it. Fewer and fewer surgeons these days are trained in closed rhinoplasty. It’s a pretty sad comment on the state of rhinoplasty

Closed rhinoplasty: closed rhinoplasty is ideally suited to your goals. There are fewer plastic surgeons however who are good at closed rhinoplasty, so you must use someone who is expert at closed rhinoplasty and is very comfortable with it

Yes indeed, a closed rhinoplasty approach can accomplish your goals with all the incisions placed on the inside of the nose. No external scars are present. No painful packing is required either. Choose your surgeon wisely based on extensive experience with closed rhinoplasty. In our practice, all rhinoplasty is performed  with the closed technique. The photograph also demonstrates recessive Chin profile, so you may want to consider placement of a chin implant to augment your chin forward for better facial balance and proportions from the side profile.
