Hello,Ideally a patient should not drink any kind of alcohol at least 2 days prior to PRP as this can increase the risk for bruising and bleeding. Cheers from Dallas!
There is an increased risk for bleeding. The research performed and the anecdotal evidence would suggest that thickness of hair and density can improve with PRP injections. The number of sessions as well as the quality of PRP obtained will vary considerably physician to physician.
Drinking wine the day before PRP will not interfere with the results of the session. However, there may be more bleeding during the procedure.Jeff Rapaport MD FAADRealself Verified All-star

Thank you for your message! We typically recommend patients do not drink about one week prior to undergoing any type of injections, including PRP. Alcohol can thin the blood which can increase the risk of bruising and swelling. We usually recommend you do not undergo injections immediately prior to a big event given that risk of bruising and swelling! I would recommend a consultation with a provider in your area for further evaluation!
We do not recommend patients to drink alcohol within 24-48 hours of any treatment when injections are involved. Alcohol thins your blood and can induce bruising. We also recommend not taking any anti-inflammatory medications (such as ibuprofen) 5-7 days prior. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids and eat a snack getting getting your blood drawn for your PRP treatment!
It is safe to have alcohol the day prior to having blood drawn for PRP. Excess alcohol use can impact the bodies regenerative factors and ability to heal.
Wine drinking is ok prior to PRP, even prior to a surgery provided that it is not over-board in quantity
