Hii, I always have very large pores on my face and some hyperpegmentation( melasma) ihave indian skin so don't want to go with lasers. Is prp injection a solution for my problem? I want smooth texture on my face but because of large pores i look much older then my age.
Answer: It is recommended to do LaseMD, Resurfx and Melapeels tohelp even out texture and minimize pore size. Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Skin texture and melasma Hi @Neehha! You would be a great candidate for PRP microneedling. In addition, I recommend the Cosmelon peel for your melasma. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Answer: Microneedling or Morpheus8 Injecting PRP underneath the skin allows the growth factors to stimulate collagen growth long term. To address your concerns about pore size, I would instead consider a more topical treatment such as micro-needling with PRP or radio-frequency micro-needling (Morpheus8). This will allow for better refinement of uneven skin and reduce pore size while still boosting collagen growth. These procedures can be completed on people of any skin type and will not further aggravate your melasma. Going forward, I would speak to multiple board certified experts to better understand your aesthetic goals.

Answer: Treatment for Large Pores & Hyperpigmentation "You can undergo chemical peel procedure. Chemical peel such as AHA (eg lactic acid) can help to shrink the pores and can help to reduce hyperpigmentation. CP also can help to make the skin smoother and rejuvenate the skin as it helps in boosting new skin turnover. PRP can rejuvenate the skin and also helps in reducing hyperpigmentation. For maximum results, you can combine both CP and PRP together. The number of sessions depends on the individual as each individual have different response rate to the treatment."

Answer: PRP Hi Neehha, Thank you for your question and photo. A great option for you would be microneedling with PRP and tranexamic acid. Microneedling will help decrease the size/appearance of enlarged pores and give you smoother skin. The PRP and tranexamic acid will aid in the lightening of your melasma. While you will see significant improvement, I would also recommend pairing the treatment with topicals such as tretinoin, vitamin c, and possibly hydroquinone. The best option would be to have a consultation with a board-certified medical provider that can help you address all your concerns.
