Uneven swelling 6 weeks after rhinoplasty, advice? (photo)

Nearly all patients have swelling, sometimes asymmetrical, six weeks after rhinoplasty. Your base view is the least important view, and there does not appear to be significant asymmetry. With any nasal surgery, the name of the game is patience. At one week, we would expect you to have quite a bit of swelling and bruising still noticeable and may have trouble breathing out of one or both nostrils. By the end of two weeks, typically, you will still be swollen but look more like you have a bad cold, rather than post surgical. Swelling can take up to a year to be completely gone, however, by 9 weeks you will look very good and should see big difference from your pre-op pics. I encourage you to stay patient. 

Thank you for your question. 6 weeks is way too early to make a proper assessment on how your final result will look, you are still very early on in the healing process. It's also normal that swelling in one side may go down quicker than the other. Typically, the initial swelling after nose surgery subsides within two to three weeks.  However, residual swelling, especially in the tip of the nose, can take about a year to resolve as the contour refines. Swelling can also vary through the day, being more prominent in the morning. Try and be patient as your nose will continue to change over the next several months. 

Congratulations on your rhinoplasty.  6 weeks is far too early to be concerned about the need for a revision.  The view you show a near picture shows a nice triangular shaped nose which indicates to me a good rhinoplasty.  Swelling of the nasal tip is the most profound swelling following rhinoplasty and a most tip swelling does not totally resolve for often up to a year.  I would not consider a revision before 6-8 months if you and your surgeon decided that she need one.
