Hello, I am 24 and I started to loose my hair at around the age 19. I am considering taking an hair transplant FUE and I would like to know how dense can it be ? Will it be able to get full head with not thin hair?

You are Norwood 6-7 and in this scale you need at least two operation to get 80% coverage. You might need body hair for more density.

At my office, the Dr.U Hair and Skin Clinic in Los Angeles, our mantra is that it is never too late for a hair transplant, even at Norwood 6. At this stage,  we recommend the usage of body hair (if this is available).  With severe baldness, there is not enough remaining donor hair to provide adequate long-term coverage. Attempting to harvest from the remaining areas of an NW 6 case will usually empty, depleted regions (i.e. a phenomenon known as "donor overharvesting."

I thought you might be interested in learning about a very similar case as yours. In the article link below, I included a case study post about a 23-year-old who had also reached the Norwood 6 stage. We used body hair to help him achieve a more youthful-looking appearance. He was very happy with his newfound confidence which had a positive effect on his professional and social life.

Is it possible to cover 70% of your head with 4400-4500 grafts within the first session. After 10 to 12 months of the first one, the rest can be covered and density can be increased.

Hello, thank you for your question. Your balding area is pretty wide but it can be covered partially as you are young and your donor area is looking good enough. Around 4000-4500 grafts may help you and there may be a need for another session to see better results. Full coverage may not be possible but it will definitely enhance your look.

You are only 24 years young and it seems like your genes are programmed for rapid hair loss.Personally I would not opt to go for fighting this type of hair loss. You are better of to shave the head entirely and have SMP done by a certified practisioner with years of experience.The results will be faster, cheaper, and certainly much higher dense looking than any hair transplantation.

Hi,If you are 24 you still have a significant future amount of hair loss ahead of you. Any hair restoration procedure performed on you today may be for waste if 5 years from now you lose the rest of your hair. You may be better off trying to slow progress of hair loss and try to stabilize your hair loss by using medications, shampoos, and PRP injections. Once you've trialed conservative treatment for awhile it could then be reassessed if you are a candidate for hair transplant.

Before knowing your candidacy for a hair transplant, the donor area must be analyzed for its density and its hair mass index, With those numbers in hand, a decision cam be made for a Class 7 pattern that you almost certainly are developing.
