I had my hairline lowered way too far by a clinic. It's too straight, has thick hairs, and doesn't round off at temples. Is it possible that if hairs are removed it will be scarred too bad? is laser removal better? And is there a chance I don't have any thin hairs to use around my donor or should there be plenty of smaller ones to use to repair? This surgery happened 1.5 years ago and has changed my life terribly. I use finasteride so haven't lost any hair, my donor area should be healthy.
Answer: Hairline Hello, You can have a revision, if there are multiple grafts on the hairline, there can be retouch with single grafts. If you want to remove th egrafts, best wat is to get laser hair removal

Answer: Repairing A Bad Hairline Restoration Result I am sorry to learn about your experience. I can understand why you are not happy with your results. It is true that natural-looking hairlines are characterized by having a soft, feathered outer edge which consists of finer hairs. Also the design of your hairline and temples matters. This would include special considerations such as: 1) mathematical proportions relative to facial features such as the eyebrows, nose, and chin (i.e Rule of Thirds) 2) the shape of your facial features. At my clinic, we design hairline and temple recesses with the characteristics of nature in mind. For example aquiline features (i.e. thin face, sharp nose) tend to naturally have more strongly angled temple contours, compared to square or rounded faces. We make efforts to replicate these natural tendencies. If your hairline is too low, it is possible to extract the unwanted hair structures (i.e. hair follicles). At my office, we specialize in safely harvesting all types of hair. We are able to do this because we've developed advanced special technology which can perform extractions anywhere on the body or scalp. In your case, we would consider areas such as the legs or the nape, where hair tends to be very thin. Below is a real-life patient case where we used leg hair to achieve this gentleman's final hairline

Answer: Reversal of an incorrect hairline As you are aware, there are several things that give your transplanted hairline an unnatural appearance, such as the shape, position, types of hairs used, and possibly the angles of the hairs as well. My recommendation would be to seek laser hair removal that progressively re-approximates a more natural hairline appearance. After that, another conservative hair transplant can be undertaken to fill in gaps and give a "softer", more natural appearance.

Answer: Pre treatment setup At my practice we take like 1-2 hours to setup and finalize the hairline. Remember, this hairline will be there forever and you want to make sure that it look natural now, but also in the future. So, I wonder why this should be an issue now if both the clinic and yourselve agreed to this hairline? Maybe you want to eleborate on how this hairline was produced in the first place.

Answer: Hair Transplant repair options Yours is not an easy case, and I've seen many like this before. Lots of these come out of cheap medical tourism surgery centers in Turkey, Iran, India etc. The good news is that it is likely this can be improved significantly. Laser removal will avoid the scarring. FUE removal can be attempted too but the punch size has to be very small to avoid multi-dotted scarring, and thus a trial run might be adviseable. In both cases, this will be a long process, but likely a successful one. Choose a doctor who has experience with repairs and making a hairline look natural. You are aiming for a slightly recessed hairline with very fine single hairs at the edge. Good luck!
