I am wondering how many mls would be required per cheek? I also have an option of Ellanse M/E would it be advisable to stick to regular hylouronic based filler or go for something longer lasting? I also want quite a full look to the cheeks, and not something very natural? Any advise would be appreciated? Thanks.
Answer: Cheek fillers It is hard to assess the number of mls of filler required until we have had a direct consultation. HA filler and Ellanse can be used to treat many of the same areas including the cheeks, however they work in different ways so it is important to establish what you are looking to achieve. Perfectha, an HA filler is great for addressing lines on the face and is ideal for filling lips, use under the eyes to treat hollowing or for a non-surgical nose job (rhinoplasty). However, if you are looking for a way to replace lost volume in your face, you may find that you want to move onto Ellanse which stimulates the body to create collagen after the initial gel has been absorbed by the body. In this way the effects of the treatment are both extremely natural looking, but last considerably longer than an HA filler.

Answer: Cheek Fillers Hi Emma The amount of filler required is difficult to assess just looking at your one dimensional photograph. It is necessary to assess the cheek contour from different angles. The amount will differ with different shaped faces and with your personal preferences, usually ranging from 1-2ml per cheek. But do not be influenced by costs, if you have been quoted as a cost per syringe used. I always assess my patients for the results that I think will deliver their expectations and quote for the treatment rather than by the number of syringes used. As for the best product to be used, both Ellanse and hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Restylane or Juvederm, are great products and will deliver excellent results if done with care and skill by an experienced doctor. Ellanse does last longer but is more difficult to remove if you are not happy with the results. HA fillers can be dissolved if necessary, which gives peace of mind. Since this is your first treatment with fillers, and especially if you wish to have a full look to your cheeks, I would recommend using HA filler on this occasion. If you are happy with the results, for any future treatments you could confidently have a longer lasting collagen stimulating filler such as Ellanse. I hope this is helpful. Best wishes Dr Ian Hallam MBE

Answer: Variable The amount of syringes (and mLs) required in each cheek is variable depending on the type of results you want and how your body takes fillers. Some people need more syringes than others to receive similar results. I would recommend a professional consultation to consider all the options and make the best decision for you (and they would be able to give you a better cost estimate) .Good luck!
