Why is the filler Ellanse not used or hard to find information on? It is compared to Sculptra. Is it better?

Since Sculptra is FDA approved in the United States and Ellanse is not, you would have to travel outside the country to legally have this treatment unless a study is being conducted. Sculptra is L-polylactic acid, a bio-modulator of collagen production which produces greater facial volume for two years or longer.  Ellanse is made from Poly-Caprolactone and reports results of two to 5 years.  It will be interesting to see head to head studies.

Ellanse isn't FDA approved to be used in the United States. Sculptra takes 3-6 months to show improvement.  Often I combine the Sculptra with other fillers, lasers, toxins and skin care to enhance the results and give immediate results. Sculptra is FDA-approved for use in the United States but Ellanse is not at this point in time.  You may be able to get advice from physicians in Europe who have used Ellanse.  

Ellanse vs collagen biostimulators
The 3 Collagen Biostimulators locally approved are: Ellanse (PCL), Sculptra (PLLA- Poly L Lactic Acid), Radiesse (Calcium hydroxyapatite). These products have a long track record of safety and effectiveness. As a rule of thumb, Ellanse provides more volumisation and Sculptra more skin tightening effect. Radiesse can be hyperdiluted for treatment of the body and hands.

In Singapore , I have been a big user of Radiesse and Ellanse (still is ) and also some Sculptra. 
Sculptra needs 3 - 4 sessions of treatment spaced out once a month. This treatment regime can last up to 2 years. The solution is a suspension (non homogenous and needs to be constantly swirled right up to the moment before injection). That results in a high chance of uneven distribution , and unevenness , lumpiness. The results are only seen 1 month after injection and is very subtle. 
In contrast , Ellanse results are seen immediately , the lift and volumisation is immediate, and ONE treatment can last for 2 years AND MORE. Patients need not undergo a complicated facial massage regimen post-treatment . 
Ellanse is CE marked since 2009 and used widely in Asia and the most popular collagen stimulator currently. Its mandarin nickname is 少女针, translated as the Needle of Youth, due to its abilities to restore lost collagen greatly.
