Side effects to CoolSculpting tend to be related to the skin and other tissues. They are very transient and should quickly resolve. The only thing that affects CoolSculpting results is the number of fat cells killed during the procedure. That tends to be about the same when two sides of the body are treated at once. Your situation doesn’t indicate that one side was treated more aggressively; it just means that a portion of your skin is more sensitive than the other. You should begin seeing your results in about 3 months after your last treatment. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist about whatever treatments you may have coming up in the future.
Bruising after CoolSculpting is totally normal and not something you should be too concerned over. It typically lasts a few days to a few weeks and will go away over time. If you are having more serious issues or the bruising does not go away, I would recommend following up with the doctor that performed the procedure.
Hello,Thank you for your question. Bruising does not determine the results at all. Different areas can react differently. Best of luck!
Bruising or redness is possible after a CoolSculpting treatment but this does not occur in most cases. If it does occur, it is not uncommon that it would happen just on one side or sometimes both sides could be affected but one side would be worse. Having bruising is not related to the effectiveness of the treatment, so I would not be concerned that you only had it on one side. The bruising is a result of the suction to draw the tissue in and not from the cooling effect.
No, bruising can be variable and isn't an indicator of your results. Keep in mind, for best results with Coolsculpting, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing to improve your final results. In our office we use Coolsculpting and Vanquish for a "Fire and Ice" treatment and are getting great outcomes. However, VASER HI DEF with ThermiRF would give you best results for body shaping, but would require more downtime. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Thanks for your inquiry. The good news is that results are not in any way effected by the presence of or lack of bruises. Some people will tend to bruise in various parts of the body, while not in others. This is very common. So, I wouldn't worry at all about your results being better on one leg. It is very likely that one leg was massaged a little more vigorously, that can also cause more bruising. It will take months for your results to fully present, and the bruising will have dissipated long before then. I hope you see some amazing results, as thighs respond extremely well to CoolSculpting. Good luck with your journey.
The amount of bruising you see after a CoolSculpting treatment isn't connected to the efficacy of the treatment or the level of results you'll see. Everyone's body responds a bit differently, and sometimes even different places on the same body respond a bit differently, as you're finding out yourself! I know it's hard to be patient, but you should see your results develop gradually over the next few months.
Thank you for your question! I understand your concerns. Fortunately, side effects of CoolSculpting or lack thereof are not indicative of the effectiveness of the treatment. Some people experience swelling, bruising, numbness, and tingling, while others do not. There are even some people that experience these side effects depending on the body part they are treating (or left vs. right side)! The effectiveness of the treatment is determined by your results after 2-3 months. If you have any concerns, I recommend contacting your provider. Best of luck!
Bruising, or not bruising, is not indicative of treatment success or failure, even on the same body part. Placement could have been slightly different because of fat distribution or even the amount of fat on one side versus the other can vary. Don't worry. If you have another treatment you may bruise on the opposite leg or not at all. It will take months for you to see the final results.
The sides of our bodies often bruise differently in response to treatments (injectables, CoolSculpting, etc). Neither lack nor formation of a bruise has any bearing on the final results. Continue to allow time, and in a few months you should notice changes. Our patients see great results with treatment of the inner thighs. If you have additional concerns, I would suggest following up with your provider who is familiar with exactly how you were treated. Best of luck!
I tell my patients that seeing final results from CoolSculpting can take up to 6 months, although some people do see signs of improvement earlier. Keep eating right and staying active to keep your weight steady in the meantime, and follow up with your CoolSculpting technician if you have any...
Hi Dear It is ok to lose weight after coolsculpting and you will get better results, but I don't recommend to try to gain weight back that will defeat the purpose of coolsculpting. Thank you Ramtin Massoudi, MD
I would have to look at the area in person. A photo is not sufficient. I would recommend contacting the facility where you had the procedure done and discuss this with them.
