How invasive is the process of fixing an open roof deformity during a revision rhinoplasty?

Without pictures it is difficult to say with certainty exactly what procedure you would need. If the issue is purely an open roof deformity, depending on surgeon preference/comfort level, performing osteotomies can be done via a closed approach. The collapsed area may indicate need for additional cartilage grafting which can be placed via open or closed approach. In general, closed approaches lead to less soft tissue swelling but performing osteotomies, regardless of approach, will still lead to swelling/bruising and will still take 6-8 weeks for the bones to heal.

First of all, a full set of facial photographs and an in person examination are going to be required to make the determination of having an open roof deformity present. If it is present, both medial and lateral osteotomies can accomplish closing the open roof through a closed rhinoplasty approach. Open rhinoplasty would not be unnecessary, which would allow a faster healing. All the incisions are placed on the inside of the nose, and no painful packing as required either
