Inframmatory Incision Irritated - 6 Weeks Post Op. What's Causing This? All Bras Are Uncomfortable & Tight! (photos)

Question

6 weeks post op, silicone, 355cc. When my PS removed my bandages at 4 weeks, he was surprised at how well I was healing & barely noticeable scars! Recently I noticed irritation at my incisions & even my bras that I wore the first few weeks after surgery are tight. No bras feel comfortable & are rubbing incision sites. And no, I'm not wearing underwires. What's causing this or how to relieve some of the rubbing? As you can tell, there is some bumpy scar tissue along with redness and a line. Help!

Thank you for your picture.  Your incisions are healing well.  I would recommend using a panty shield over the incisions when you wear your bra.  Hopefully this will decrease your discomfort.Earl Stephenson, Jr, MD, DDS, FACS

Your photos don't show any obvious concerns but if you're experiencing irritation, ask your surgeon on how best to manage this as we all have our own ideas of what may work best.

Thank you for your question. It is difficult to tell from the photos, but It is possible that your redness around the incision is from irritation from your bra. However, to be safe it is best to contact your plastic surgeon to make sure that there is nothing you should be concerned about.
