Hi Gummybear,You have received some great answers below! Great advice. I will list a few tips for you also. My gut is telling me, without knowing you or examining you or seeing any photos, you won't make a "C". Cup size estimates can bemisleading, but I generally advise patients that they will experience anincrease of approximately one cup size per 200 cc. You can try on implants inthe office by placing them into a special bra. Approximately 50 cc (1-2 oz.) is added to the final volume to accountfor flattening of the implant in the partial submuscular pocket. Once youdecide on a size you like, then add on about 25-50 cc, because in real life theimplant will be flattened slightly by your tissues.Multiple measurements need to be taken to fitan implant to your exact anatomy. Have your surgeon's office show you thecharts of the implant dimensions for the various profiles of silicone andsaline from the manufacturer. Then you and your surgeon can piecetogether the puzzle by matching your measurements, with your wishes, versusyour tissue cover and the available implants to arrive at a surgical plan.Keep in mind larger implants tend to havemore problems over the years.Sincesilicone implants wrinkle less than saline implants, they might be your bestbet. You can also approximate this athome by measuring out an equivalent amount of rice placed into a cutoff foot ofold panty-hose, and put this in your bra.Wear this around the house for a while, and see what you think.Implant size must square with assessments oftissue cover, breast diameter, and chest wall width.Multiple measurements of your chest wall are taken (seven in total). Implant size selection has been an issue ofmuch discussion. Therefore, I use a wide variety of methods, but the implant size isalways established preoperatively. Also, patients are advised to bring reference photos demonstrating their ideal sizeand shape. A photo album of patient pictures is maintained to assist them. These photos ultimately help in determining where the implants will be placed, since they can be shifted inside (to provide more cleavage), to the outside, upor superiorly, and down or inferiorly during surgery. In determining the finalsize selection, I always place the highest priority on the preoperativemeasurements and potential tissue cover. Then, the patient’s verbal requestsare factored into the analysis.Ouraverage size over the last 6,000 implants was 350. All the best with your size choice, "Dr. Joe"
It depends on what your idea of a small C cup is. You should look at photos from the surgeon at the time of your consult. That size seems a little small to me. I would probably go with 300 cc implants.
Hello,This is one of the most common questions on RealSelf.com regarding breast augmentation. Even if you provided photographs, it would be impossible to predict what cup size you'll have with any given implant volume. I tell this to women who come in for a consultation as well. The bra cup size 'system' is not standardized or predictable, so it's best not to use that as a measure of how much augmentation one is looking for. I agree with Drs. Tholen and Corbin. Show your doctor in the office what sizer gives you the appearance you desire, and he will determine what implant will get you close to that. Best of luck!
At your height and weight, it takes around 200-225cc to equal one bra cup size. Using those implants would likely give you a very nice look, though you would more likely be a B cup in size.Try implants on in a bra and stretchy top and see what you like BEFORE looking at the implant sizes. In other words, go for a look starting with too small up to too large and narrow out those you don't like before you or your friend look at any numbers on the back of an implant. Then, realize your surgeon (if s/he knows what they are doing) will need to add 10-20-% to whatever implant you chose, in order to compensate for submuscular compression that would make your exact choice look smaller than when sizing. At 32AA, you have virtually no breast tissue of your own, so you likely need somewhat larger than the 245-255 you have indicated. Remember that a 12ounce can of soda is 360cc. Think of a can of pop as your entire breast volume--do you think it would be a "low C cup"? (I didn't think so!)Forget about the number, bring goal photographs (nude from the internet, not a bra catalog) and try on implants. Then, remember to forget about the numbers and trust your ABPS-certified plastic surgeon who should have lots of experience with breast augmentation. Then, if you like your new look, I'd also recommend forgetting what you new bra labels say--go for what fits and looks cute, even if it says D or C or B. It's the look, not the letter on the bra label!Click on the web reference link below for more information in my Comprehensive Guide to Breast Augmentation. Cheers and Best wishes! Dr. Tholen
Thank you for the question. To best help you, a physical examination or picture evaluation is required in order to determine which procedures and techniques would be best for your case.Dr. Campos
I agree totally with Dr Tholen and would definitely put implants in a bra to you come to the size you likeDr Corbin
Based only on your ht. and wt. it seems like it might work but the proper implant size depends on so many other factors that it takes an exam to give a real answer.
Hi Yaya,I already know you are seeing a board certified plastic surgeon because Sientra only sells to BC plastic surgeons (by ABPS - The American Board of Plastic Surgery) who are members of ASAPS (The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) and or a member of ASPS (The American Society...
If you were a C cup with your initial 280 cc implants, but weight gain made you a DDD with those same implants, you may have a lot more breast tissue of your own. You could even hypothesize that you may be a C cup without any implants at all. Wait 6 months for full healing and...
Hi Sillybell,I know this isn't your question, but you appear to look great in your photo. I am unclear on how big you were, implant size wise, from your first surgery? Maybe you were nearly a 470, I am unsure. I am also lost as to how come you wanted a 510 but ended with a 470...
