What do significant jaw line fillers do to the front of your face? (Photo)

I always see pictures of the side view of jawline fillers, but I am always curious how it affects the front view. Does it make your face more square? Does it give you a more hollow cheek look, or does it not do much? Thanks!

Volume and contouring of the cheeks can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra. Implants or fat are alternatives. Botox and radiofrequency can help slim and contour the jawline. Liposuction can help slim the face. Ultherapy, J Plasma and RF treatments can provide skin tightening and lift. Jawline filler improves jawline definition. On the frontal view, it will widen the face and also define the jawline. In a female, it is important to not overfill the jawline or it could masculinize the face.

Hi,This is a wonderful questions and something I discuss with every (female) patient looking to augment the jawline. It will essentially widen the lower 1/3 of the face. In patients that already have a wide lower face, it can be very unflattering. I typically reserve this treatment for patients that have a small jaw to begin with, otherwise it can masculinize the female face. Best,

Hi--Thanks for your question! The way that fillers affect the face depends upon the type of filler, location, and technique used for the injection.  Men often seek jawline fillers in order to make their jaw more square and masculine in appearance.  However, women may benefit, too, especially if the lower third of the face is less prominent compared to the upper two-thirds; filler placed in the lower-third can provide balance.
