I am looking into a tummy tuck but don’t know if I have enough skin to stretch down that starts above my belly button how will the doctor be able to tell and if there isn’t enough skin what would the procedure or incision look like!

Answer: Skin Removal from Tummy Tuck Hi Willa Miina, Thank you for your question! A tummy tuck typically includes liposuction to the upper and lower abdomen, pubic area, lower back, and flanks. Once those fat cells are removed and your muscles have been sutured back together, you are left with excess skin. All of the pretty skin located above your belly button will then get pulled down, and your excess skin is removed. The incision is from hip bone to hip bone and can easily be covered by a pair of underwear or bikini bottoms. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area. Best of luck!
