Answer: Stay away from alcohol Hi, Thank you for your question! We strongly urge all of our patients to stay away from alcohol consumption 1 month before and 1 month after upper blepharoplasty surgery. Alcohol does several things that slows the process of recovery. First, it dilates blood vessels which translates to more swelling. Especially after double eyelid surgery, the main impediment to recovery is swelling. Any factor that increases this risk should be avoided such as alcohol. Second, alcohol is a blood thinner, which means it can increase or prolong your bruising.

Answer: Alcohol after Asian eyelid surgery Usually you want to wait about three weeks and then drink in moderation. You'll notice increased swelling and puffiness temporarily but it shouldn't be a long term issue unless you are drinking frequently.Chase Lay MDAsian eyelid surgery specialist

Answer: Alcohol hi not sure if you already had the bday party but usually if on your follow ups if you don't have much swelling, a glass or two of wine or cocktail is usually ok but not over consumption. however if with few drinks you notice the onset of swelling, then listen to your body and stop. just like physical activity. but it is always best to ask your surgeon since he or she did the surgery. hope this helps. dr david kahng
