Hi there! I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector here at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. No, using a dot grid for Kybella treatment is not mandatory, but it is recommended and can be helpful for safety, precision, and consistency of treatment.
Hi-Thank you for submitting your question. The dot grid used with Kybella has many uses. The grid is placed in such a way that it avoids the nerves coming up the side of your chin, ensures proper distancing of injections, and helps to determine the number of vials required for your treatment. Be sure to receive treatment from a licensed aesthetician trained to administer Kybella or a board certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck! Dr. Rodriguez
The dot grid can be helpful for a Kybella treatment because it ensures the medication is evenly placed in the treatment area to produce a smooth and natural result. However, it is a matter of provider preference. Some injectors swear by the grid while others choose not to use it. The most important factor when choosing your provider is the level of experience your doctor has in this procedure. If you work with a board-certified plastic surgeon who has performed numerous Kybella treatments, you can rest assured that your treatment will yield very good results whether or not the grid is used.
Hi,Thank you for your question. The dot grid included in the package is not required for kybella treatment. It's a tool that helps the injector to evenly place the product in a standardized way that likely was used during the clinical trials. It's certainly not required and its use is provider dependent. It does not affect the final result.Hope that helps!
The standard for treating submental fat with Kybella includes using dot grids. However a practitioner can deviate from the standard if he or she wishes to.
Dear ajenkins1,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
The Kybella dot grid is very helpful for injection placement. However, if your doctor is very experienced they may not use it. Be sure to see a Board Certified Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon.
We have not found Kybella to be very effective in our practice. Best to perform a one time treatment with neck liposuction under local anesthesia
It's not mandatory although I do prefer to use it myself. It's all about injector preference.
The temporary tattoo grid that comes with Kybella is used as a guide for placement of the product. It helps the injector keep track of where you are and how much. It is helpful but not mandatory.
