Can I sport a short haircut in the donor area after transplant of 3000 grafts?

You can get a hair cut after your donor areas has healed.  You can have a short hair cut as you wish.

In the last two years as FUE has grown to be more popular some surgeons who do not specialize in Hair Transplant Surgery use larger punches and leave bigger scars that make covering up the donor zone a more difficult task, the larger the punch used for making the incisions, the greater the chance of scarring. There is also concern with larger cases of over harvesting (taking out too many grafts in a single surgery). In our practice we use a small punch to minimize scarring so our patients usually have their hair stylist cut and blend hair a week after surgery so the hair grows evenly and thus our patients are able to wear shorter hair cuts without waiting for much hair growth. If the scarring is minimal, you shouldn't have any issues with a short hair cut only after a week or so post surgery. We also limit our FUE cases to around 2,000 grafts to prevent permanent damage to the donor zone.

Hair growth will usually reach 80% of its potential in 8 months and 95% in one year. You must be patient while you wait it out.
