Asymmetry after rhinoplasty, what are my options to fix size and shape?

My nostrils are very asymmetrical and i am more self conscious now than i was pre rhinoplasty. I need a doctor who is willing and able to correct my nostril asymmetry. What are my options for the difference in size and shape?

Hi,

Correcting nostril asymmetry is extremely difficult. Usually I counsel patients that I can make the nostrils look more symmetric on frontal view (I prioritize this view), then work on the base view.  If we had to choose symmetry of one view over the other, the frontal view is most important.  The nostril shape is extremely complex because it depends on the cartilages as well as the amount of skin available.  This is what makes it so tricky.

Hello! I see what you're talking about. It looks like there was a base reduction done to move in your nostrils. These can be challenging to correct, but not impossible. It's hard to enlarge an excessively small nostril in comparison to shrinking the larger one. It may require reducing the left nostril to the size of the right one via a repeat, conservative reduction. The symmetry would likely be much better. You may require rim grafts or other procedures to assist with reduction of nostril show on the front view. I would suggest visiting with a facial plastic surgeon who performs base reductions and revision rhinoplasty. Hope this helps you!
