Lateral canthoplasty and canthopexy operations mainly serve for the same aim. In canthoplasty the lateral canthal ligament is cut and re-located in the bone. In canthopexy, this ligament is tightened and pulled without cutting. They both achieve elongation and provide positive eye vector. Some doctors prefer canthopexy and some prefer canthoplasty.
