Could my nose be fractured even though the CT scan didn't show any?

Hello, i was punched in the nose about 8 weeks ago, i took a ct scan which showed no fracture whatsoever, however, i have noticed that the left side wall of my nose is swollen, not sure if this is permanent, or if there's in-fact some sort of fracture even though the ct-scan didn't show any? thanks,

Additionally, 2/3 of somebody's nose is made of cartilage and 1/3 is made of bone. If there is a change in the appearance of your nose eight weeks after trauma, it may be permanent. Thank you for your question. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Hi,
I’m sorry to hear about your trauma. As for the CT, it’s possible that you have a non-displaced nasal bone fracture, which wouldn’t show a deformity in itself. That being said, a callous or scar tissue can for around the fracture line and this can certainly be felt and potentially even seen. The cartilage of the lower 2/3 of the nose could also have been injured and cause you to have a notable bump. The best and really only way to get a full picture of the issue would involve a visit to a specialist such as a facial plastic surgeon and have it evaluated in the office. Best of luck.
