Thank you for your pictures. It sounds like he had several seromas. Drains are necessary after abdominoplasty due to the accumulation of fluid. Your seroma placed pressure on your incision and caused it's breakdown. At this point you'll have to have a debridement of all the unhealthy tissue at the edges and the base of the wound, allow for healing from the bottom up. are certainly valid, especially if you keep having large volumes of fluid aspirated repeatedly.  The wound itself should heal with conservative wound care but the seroma, if persistent, will require interventions to help it resolve and you must allow your surgeon to help you through this since your surgeon 'owns' what happens here.  FYI, moist wounds heal faster then dry, scabbed wounds and if the tissue is truly dead, debridement of non-viable tissue will also help accelerate your healing.

It sounds like your surgeon has treated this problem appropriately, is his instructions seem quite reasonable. I have nothing to add, other than an opinion that in some months when the incision is healed it will look the same as if these problems had not occurred. All the best. 

This will heal but you need to follow with your plastic surgeon. Getting advice from too many people may just confuse things.
