Thank you for your pictures. In my opinion  this could not have been performed by a plastic surgeon. The incision closure is not appropriate and the distribution of skin is inappropriate. Hello! Thank you for your question. At only 12 days post operative you are very early in the healing stage. Your body will continue to undergo changes related to healing. It is possible the folds will smooth out with more time. It is always recommended your continue to follow up with your chosen surgeon to ensure optimal healing. You should address your concerns with your surgeon. Best of luck in your healing. 

It appears that the incision needed to be lengthened on the sides and towards the back in order to get your skin to lay more flat.  In my experience, it is far better to have a longer, nice and flat scar then skin that is too bunched together such that there are pleats.The amount of swelling look normal and it is normal to not be completely straight at 12 days out.  You will be standing upright pretty soon. As far as the swelling, it will take 3-6 months for the swelling to mostly subside, but it can take a full year for it to completely resolve.  If your incision does not settle nicely, you can consider a scar revision after 4-6 months. Best wishes. 

ONLY more healing time will tell, like 4 months more. The "pleating" is to match uneven distances of the upper vs lower incisions. 

Thank you for your question. You certainly have a right to know who did your surgery. Make sure you have a board certified plastic surgeon and that the surgeon, not the Physicians assistant is preforming your surgery including the closure.
