#6 Implant Crown Won't Stay Put With Temp Adhesive. What To Do?

Question

I've had this crown installed one month, and it's already come out twice. Both times, it detached while rinsing after brushing. I use a Sonicare, so little pressure is involved. No impacts or biting down on food there either. Should I insist on a stronger adhesive, or is this going to be a repeated annoyance I just have to live with? I don't want to end up needing monthly visits to have my crown reattached. After all the time and expense involved, that just seems unreasonable. Thoughts?

This could be occuring for a few reasons. Angulation of the implant may not ne perfect (bone available, adjacent teeth position, opposing teeth). May just need to adjust the bite

I know this must be frustrating for you. Your dentist is doing the right thing by using the weakest cement possible in case the crown ever has to be retrieved later. Unfortunately, there is a bit of trial and error sometimes. I would imagine he will use a stronger cement and that should take care of your concern.

You should consider having it screwed in or cemented with a stronger cement sometimes the implant post is so short retention is an issue and screwed down crown is a better option or morse tapper fit good luck

Ideally a temporary cement is used in case access to the screw to the implant is needed.  This was more necessary years ago when implants were designed differently than they are now, as screws used to get loose fairly often.  The newer designs don't lead to loose screws as often, so a stronger cement is OK.

	However, should the need arise to get to the screw again, the crown is likely going to be destroyed and need to be remade.  This is a rare instance nowadays.

Normally, implant crowns are cemented with the weakest cement that will keep it in place.  This is done for retrievability purposes.  Your dentist should use a stronger cement in your case.
