Can micro-needling build up collagen in aging hands?

If micro-needling can build up collagen on the face to resurface the skin, can it also be used on thin skinned, aging hands, and lower arms, especially for those who bruise easily in these areas?

We do not recommend Botox treatments until at least 1-2 weeks after microneedling treatments.  I would use caution doing home microneedling treatments.  It can cause serious complications if not done by a professional.I hope this helps.

This is tough to answer without pictures, but it can take a series of treatments to get improvement. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for recommendations for after care and skin care. With microneedling, I always combine prp and lasers to get the most robust results. See ...

In short, generally, although there are a few conditions where this may or may not be the case. In patients with Lupus or Vitiligo, the treatment could result in lesions or other unwanted effects. If you have one of these conditions, it is best to let your surgeon know beforehand.

This is difficult to give you an answer. It is too soon to see improvement. Acne scars require a combination approach and need a series of treatments. I recommend microneedling/prp combined with lasers, subcision and fillers. See an expert in acne scarring for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer
