Can Botox cause your chin to go into a spasm like cramp randomly? I'm so terrified it's doing this (Photo)

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  The spasm you are seeing is the result of partial muscle activity of your chin that would best be treated with a small amount of Botox into the area of activity.  I would not worry about this result, it can be treated and does not indicate that a poor injection was the cause.

the muscles of the face are often functionally related to other muscles.  Many of these relationships can be exploited, i.e. to raise the eyebrows.  That being said, it is probably a quick fix from your physician to reduce or eliminate your problem.

This may be due to Botox placement. I recommend following up with your injector for a formal evaluation. Venus legacy treatments can give improvement. Best, Dr. Emer

It is probable that one part of the chin muscles did not get the same dose of botox, and it is overcontracting compared to the other side.  I would suggest returning to your doctor/injector and have them add additional botox to the area that has spasms.

Botox is a great product for the chain. Looking at your picture it appears that you may need more Botox. I think what you have is some muscle that is still functioning therefore causing a dimple. If this does not resolve within a week I would ask your doctor to give you a few more units of Botox in that area.

You definitely have some residual muscle activity after your treatment. It's possible Botox wasn't used in a sufficient quantity or not placed properly. You should see your doctor and have it addressed.

most likely there is some activity in the muscle lateral to the area injected and can be corrected with an injection of Botox into the area that is active. see a board certified dermatologist

Thank you for your question and picture. Botox is great at treating hyperactive and chin dimples. It does look like you did not have enough Botox, hence the partial activity ( cramp like ) with certain activity or movement. This can easily be corrected with a touch up of Botox. If you wish not to have additional Botox, you should regain normal chin activity within 3 to 4 months after the initial treatment. I recommend following up with your injector. First time is always the most difficult to judge what will be required in any individual. Sounds like you have a good injector that was conservative. Much better than paying and getting too much.
I encourage you to return to your provider and receive few more units.

Thanks for sharing your question and photo. It looks as though you still have a small amount of muscle activity remaining. A few additional units of Botox will solve the problem. I recommend you followup with your injector as this can be easily corrected.
