I always sleep on my side and am struggling being able to sleep on my back in prep for upcoming breast augmentation surgery. Need specific ideas for the type of neck pillow that is most useful. Ordered wedge pillow: https://www.sleepnumber.com/All-Pillows/Specialty-Pillows/p/421656. However struggling to find a neck pillow that will help. Used to latex foam pillows.
Answer: No specific idea: I recommend using whatever you usually use. Side sleeping is OK Side Sleeping After Breast Implants There’s a myth that after breast augmentation surgery, you’ll need to sleep on your back for a week or longer. Many of my patients believe it, and they are worried that they won’t be able to get to sleep, because they normally sleep on their side or their stomach. They are not alone. According to the Better Sleep Council, fewer than 15 percent of people prefer to sleep on their back. Let’s bust this myth: You don’t have to sleep on your back after breast augmentation surgery. You don’t have to stay up all night to make sure you don’t doze off and turn over onto your stomach. You can sleep any way you want from the night of surgery on, including on your stomach if you’re comfortable enough. That is what I advise my patients. Always best to consult with your surgeon's protocol.Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and AuthorRealSelf Distinguished Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: Ideas for specific neck pillow post breast augmentation surgery? While you'll probably be more comfortable on your back in the early stages of recovery, it is ok for you to be on your side at times. Keep a variety of pillows near you for support as you change positions throughout the night. There are formed memory foam pillows that may be helpful for specific neck support.

Answer: Sleeping after breast aug It’s not usually a major deal if you roll over to your side at night after a breast aug. I tell my patients to prop up on their back mostly for comfort. If you put a few pillows on your sides under your arms, you’ll be less likely to roll over, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
