I know results get better over time with Halo. but will lip lines continue to diminish?

Great Question. The results of Halo probably take a few months to reach there peak. It takes that time for the body to form and remodel the collagen in the skin. As for lip lines they can be quite deep and although they will improve with multiple treatments they are often treated more quickly with the same erbium laser in the Halo  but delivered in a "full field" manner. Ask your surgeon about this option and about the Pros and Cons.

you're totally right, Halo improves many issues significantly some of that collagen production will take longer. Lip lines are particularly hard to treat we have seen good results with

HALO effects will continue to improve for 6 months.  If lip lines are deep, you may need some filler (like Restylane silk) or a deeper laser treatment to this area like TRL.  I would wait 6 months before doing additional laser on the face.   

Your lip lines will continue to improve as time goes on.  The effects of HALO on collagen production to fill in the lip lines takes time, as much as 6-9 months to see full effect.  HALO works well on lip lines but not if the are super deep.  They will get better, but sometimes a full field deep laser resurfacing is what will give the most dramatic effect, but the tradeoff is a much longer recovery than HALO.  Hope your lines look great and they go away!

Hi there, as the practice might have educated you on the halo procedure, like you rightly mentioned the first 5 days you will mostly see only mends coming out. The whole process of collagen stimulation is just starting to happen and you could see results in 8 to 10 weeks. Lip lines are slower to react and a second Halo is always recommended after 8-10 weeks.  

Great question, Suzeeque! Most of my Halo patients see softening of fine lines and wrinkles including lip lines between 1 month and 6 months after the treatment. Halo resurfacing works by stimulating collagen production, which takes time. It is perfectly normal to not see these benefits until several months after the treatment. It sounds like you had an excellent treatment based on your question and it's great to hear how satisfied you are with your results so far!

This is because it takes the body time to form new collagen. Lip lines traditionally are very difficult to get rid of and will likely require a few treatments to see a noticeable difference. Congratulations on your Halo treatment!  The Halo laser works by gradually stimulating collagen production in the skin.  While many of my patients notice a new glow to their skin within 1-2 weeks of treatment, it can take up to 10-12 weeks to see the full improvement in skin texture and fine lines.  Please keep in mind that some patients may need a series of Halo treatments for best results.  Best of luck!

HALO is designed as a low downtime laser and yes the non-ablative component can stimulate collagen. This however takes 2-4 months with repeated treatments. Lip lines can be due to sun damage, or they can be dynamic (due to muscle movement)- in most cases its a combination. To set realistic expectations, some lip lines (fine lines) can be removed with HALO, for better collagen stimulation a CO2 Fractional laser is used, sometimes fillers are needed.
