Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can understand from your question You should stop smoking 24 hours before the operation and smoking is not recommended for 2 months after the operation. It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best regards!
The majority of medical professionals advise quitting smoking at least 4 weeks before and after a rhinoplasty procedure. Since a healthy blood flow is necessary for rhinoplasty surgery, smoking can have several undesirable side effects that could jeopardize your recovery. This can affect both healing of the skin and cartilages. We worry about the blood flow to the skin in patients that have been smoking. Make sure you disclose that you have been smoking to your physician, who will then determine your risk to undergo the procedure.
Personally, I would not cancel your rhinoplasty surgery for 2 cigarettes. Facial plastic surgeons are most concerned when people smoke before facelift surgery. In my opinion, your results will not be dependent upon those 2 cigarettes. I hope this helps, and good luck! Dr Joseph
Thank you for your questions. Smoking in general damage everything in the body. It is not surprising that it will negatively impact healing process. If you have only smoked for 4 days, that should not be causing any significant harm. However, I would advise not to smoke from now on ward please.Best wishes,
