Answer: I’m South Asian, do I need an ethnic rhinoplasty? (photos) Hello, thank you for your question. From your photos, you appear to be an excellent candidate for a rhinoplasty procedure. The tip of your nose is rather bulbous and can be easily trimmed down during rhinoplasty for a more aesthetically-pleasing appearance. Let your surgeon know about your concerns during your initial consultation and they will formulate a treatment plan that addresses all of your concerns. While it may be cheaper to have the procedure done in Mexico, you should always prioritizethe qualifications and experience of your plastic surgeon before all else. Whichever surgeonyou decide on, make sure they are board-certified. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Ethnic rhinoplasty Based on the photos provided, the tip of the nose needs refinement, and the nostrils may need narrowing as well. These are relatively straightforward procedures for an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon. I can't comment on going to Mexico for surgery, as I am sure there are many skilled surgeons there. Board-certified facial plastic surgeons and plastic surgeons who practice and are trained in the United States are generally more expensive because of their rigorous training programs and extensive qualifications. I do not recommend shopping for facial cosmetic procedures (especially rhinoplasty) based on cost!Be sure to see an expert. All the best,

Answer: I’m South Asian, do I need an ethnic rhinoplasty? Hello,Thanks for your question. Looking at your nose, it seems as if you really only need a tip rhinoplasty for balance. You might benefit from narrowing the width of your nostrils a tiny bit. A specialist in Ethnic rhinoplasty is what you need. While Mexico has fine plastic surgeons, their approach to thick skinned noses often leads to a very operated look. That is something you want to avoid if possible. Good luck,Dr. Shah

Answer: Asian Rhinoplasty Candidate As a specialist in rhinoplasty surgery as it pertains to ethnic rhinoplasty, I can tell you that these are the most common issues I hear patients discuss with me regarding their reasons for wanting to alter the appearance of their nose while still maintaining their ethnic identity: Asian rhinoplasty patients discuss their dissatisfaction with the following: Flat nasal profileSlight nasal bridgeFlared nostrilsWide nasal tipPoor nasal tip strengthI employ specialized surgical techniques for Asian Rhinoplasty and my number one goal is to have a unified vision with my patient. I do not want to harm a patient's ethnic identity, however, I want to allow for each patient achieve the very best results they can and that occurs by having a highly personalized and customized surgical plan. I have over two decades of experience in facial plastic surgery and am able to preserve the ethnic characteristics of my patients while delivering the results they desire. When selecting a rhinoplasty surgeon, it is of the utmost importance that you choose a surgeon who is board certified in facial plastic surgery. Board certification matters. Especially, when you are considering ethnic rhinoplasty. You want your face and nose in the hands of an experienced and qualified surgeon. I am including a website link about Asian Rhinoplasty as well as video that discusses in detail the specifics of this procedure. I hope you find this information helpful. Please feel free to reach out to our New York City office if we can help answer any questions you might have in your decision making process. Sincerely, Philip J.
