No this will not help. Your best bet is an evaluation by an eyelid specialist who can determine why you are having this issue. There can be medical reason for bags and dark circles or they can be a normal change. You can search asoprs.org for a qualified doctor in your area Best Dr. Massry
Not sure who told you that this dietary supplement would help you with the under eye dark circle. It won't do anything for this. In fact, the collagen in the tablet is broken down in the stomach into amino acids like any other dietary protein. Intake of dietary amino acids will not make your dark circles any better. Anyone who suggests that ingestion of dietary collagen improves lower eyelid dark circles is making a false claim that takes advantage of common misconceptions about how collagen acts in our body as a basic building block. While it is true that collagen is an important structural protein in the body, consuming extra dietary collagen has nothing to do with having a dark circle. My advice is eat a balanced diet and only take supplements recommended by your personal physician based on your actual health history.
Dark circles under the eyes are caused either by excessive bulging fat pockets, increase pigmentation, increase superficial vassels or tear trough deformity. Taking oral supplements or other medications will not improve any of these.
This is a common "ruse" used by marketers of the modern "snake oils". Just because collagen is such a critically important component of skin and skin support, doesn't mean you can eat it and have an effect on your skin. Otherwise eating a steak (it is part collagen) should improve your skin! Even putting collagen on your skin will not help--the molecule is simply too large and complex to penetrate the skin and have any effect. So, back to basics...rest, sunblock, moisturize, healthy diet, and judicious use of medically proven effective products/techniques, ie, retin-A, laser therapies, etc. The better treatments for dark circles and bags are discussed elsewhere on this site.
no. dark circles are a consequence of your particular anatomy. no supplemet will "fix" this. remember there is nothing wrong, just different. if it really boters you see someone ( plastic surgeon/Derm/facial plastics/oculoplastics) for possible skin treatments/injectables that may help. also find a concealer you like, it can be your best friend. did i mention exercise regularly, eat right, drink plenty of water, and get 8 hours of sleep per night? no it won't change the bags either but you'll feel better. good luck.
Re : "Does Taking Hydrolysed Collagen Tablets Totally Get Rid of Dark Circles/ Bags Under Eyes?" I would be truly shocked if you did see an improvement. Why? If what you are taking is indeed collagen, you are essentially ingesting a protein which as it passes thorough the acid of the stomach is broken down, as it parses through the small bowel it is broken further down by protein enzymes to its basic building blocks of amino acids which you then absorb exactly as if you ate a tuna sandwich. Taking these pills and hoping that some how they will lighten discoloration is as realistic as hoping your last turkey or tuna sandwich cleared your dark eye circles. In other words, a waste of money. Due to the extreme thinness of the skin the darker pigmentation is a reflection of the eye muscle and blood vessels. Placing an interface of fat or certain other fillers would diminish this reflection and lighten up the eyes. Dr. Peter A Aldea
Changing eye shape is a surgery that can contain many risks and unpredictable outcomes. If you want to experiment with a non-surgical change in eye shape, you can get botox/dysport over your eyes, and get an eyelid droop intentionally and see how you like this. Less of your eye will...
I read your concern and reviewed your photo. It would be helpful to know the duration and history involving your right lower eyelid red lesion. If it's been there for some time, it may represent a cluster of superficial capillaries. In my practice, a benign-appearing lesion like this may...
Cosmetic lower eyelid surgery has undergone a paradigm shift over the twenty years since I began my plastic surgery training, as has facial rejuvenation surgery as a whole. The trend has been to move away from highly invasive procedures that focus on skin and fat excision and pulling skin...
