Dr. Rice is a skilled pro at his craft, he and his team are amazing and the Esthetic Center of El Dorado Hills is a beautiful, state of the art facility & medical spa. My lower facelift & upper blepharoplasty results are incredible, 15 years wiped out! I received Beverly Hills level results and care sans the price. Highly recommend.
I would not trust anyone else but Dr. Rice! Honestly, he is truly amazing. My expectations were truly met with the laser face resurfacing in 2019 and January 2021 I had the neck/facelift/platysma muscles corrected..I know it has only been several months since my neck/facelift was done, but I am absolutely thrilled with the results..One of my platysma bands is very strong and has always been more prominent than the other side, so I will need to have botox done on the one side for a really flat surface, however my neck still looks great if I chose not to..I was disappointed at first in regards to the one right platysma band not as flat as the other, but it wasn't Dr. Rice's fault, it is my anatomy.. My neck and face look wonderful. I will turn 64 this year and feel that I look in my 40's..I did this surgery for me, not for anyone else, so if I feel good, that is all that matters Right? Dr. Rice really takes his time with you, explains everything and makes sure you do not have unrealistic expectations..His staff is outstanding and they know what they are doing. Dr. Rice and his team are superstars in my book..
For a couple years I researched procedures to get rid of jowls and a badly drooping neck When, at age 77, I decided facelift surgery was the only way to get the results I wanted, I began to research doctors. It took about 18 months to find Dr. Rice. I live in the Bay Area and found the price range to be quite high, with the highest being $17,000. I was willing to go a bit further afield and was able to get really excellent expertise for $9,500. The Esthetics Center in El Dorado Hills, CA, exceeded my expectations. The place itself is stylish, extremely clean, pleasant and bright, and the staff are all warm, caring, friendly and above all, highly competent. I knew from our consultation that Dr. Rice was the doctor I could trust. He took his time, answered all my many questions, was good humored, kind and confident. He understood perfectly that I did not want to look "overdone." The procedure went really well. The aftercare was excellent. Now, six weeks later, I'm so glad I chose Dr. Rice and the Esthetics Center. I recommend Dr. Rice and his staff without reservation. You will be in expert, completely safe hands if you go there. My takeaway advice for anyone having a facelift is---First, be in excellent health. I don't smoke, drink rarely, exercise a lot, and watch my diet. Before surgery I cut out most salt and sugar. The Esthetics Center provided me with multi-vitamins, bromelain, arnica, some other useful products, and very precise, helpful instructions. I had very minimal swelling and bruising, and really, very little pain. Discomfort, yes, and numbness, but very manageable. I was concerned about being able to sleep on my back, but found I was able to train myself several weeks before the procedure to do that. I now sleep on my back always, with no problems.
I am very selective about who I go see and who I would allow to do plastic surgery on my body and face. I been very fortunate to have found have one of the best plastic surgeons in town. I have done a lot of research the staff is wonderful very professional and the results are phenomenal. The results exceeded my expectations. I hope this review will help someone that is looking only for the best.
Dr. Rice did my nose surgery, correction of deviated septum and shape correction. Also I had Botox and filler injections done by dr. Rice. Very knowledgeable, professional, master of his specialty and very pleasant person! His all staff is amazing as well! I am very pleased with my results! I referred many of my friends and they all love the service and happy with results!
I met Dr. Rice in December 2019 at a Botox appointment. He was the 3rd doctor I had tried and I will never use anyone else in the future. He is extremely thorough, takes all the time you need, and explains everything completely. And for the first time, completely painless! I had Bellafill shortly after to add volume to my cheeks and decrease the labial folds. I was almost 70 at the and inherited the wrinkle gene from my mother! The immediate results were noticeable. I then had Fraxel laser resurfacing and more Bellafill added to my manual folds. The results 5 months later are absolutely amazing! I look so much better and younger. Dr Rice never tries to push any treatments on you and us adamant about not overdoing your. He firmly believes you should look natural and refreshed only. His bedside manner is exceptional, his entire staff friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I very highly recommend him.
I have worked with Dr. Rice in the past. His staff at the aesthetics Center are wonderful. D.R. Rice came into the room and consulted with me, prior to his amazing R.N. Danika. started her procedures I had Botox, and filler for my cheeks and lips. I would not trust my face to anybody else except for the staff, and D.R. Rice himself. They are all very kind and professional, they do amazing work. I feel as though I look 20 years younger. Thank you, for everything that you do.
I am 75 years old this month and certainly do not look my age, especially after the laser resurfacing and fat transfer. I was weary of going thru a face lift and opted for the laser to rejuvenate my skin and obliterate the horrible lines above my lips. The fat transfer plumped up my face in the right places and makes me look so much better. I have lost that tired drawn out appearance and I need little make up now to look amazingly good. I am very pleased with the results and need now to think of my neck which contrasts with a flawless face...Dr. Rice suggested using a laser for my neck at the same time as the other 2 procedures and I probably should have done it. I'm 58 years old. I grew up in the sun and, like all other teenage girls in the 70's, I slathered my skin with baby oil and BAKED everything not covered by my bikini all summer long. A really nice tan was required back then if you wanted to look healthy and fit! The bad news about sun damage didn't really become mainstream until the 80s. By that time a lot of damage was done -and precious little could be undone. No matter how much I spent on great skincare. In addition to the age spots, lines, wrinkles, and heavy texture on my face, my eyebrows were drooping and uneven. Only a brow lift could fix that. I like feeling pretty as much as anyone. Getting older doesn't change that, it just makes it harder. I take very good care of myself mind, body, and soul. Even so, in the last several years I've begun to feel less and less connected to the image I saw in the mirror. I decided to begin with research into the C02 Laser resurfacing. The lines around my mouth were the most troubling and C02 was the procedure that would best address that. And...make the most difference overall. I was open to considering a brow lift but wasn't sure I could afford both. I did my research on RealSelf and was happy to find so much information about the doctors in my area. I'm also a Kaiser member and they have a host of cosmetic services available as well. I picked 3 physicians from RealSelf and scheduled a consultation with them as well as with Kaiser. Dr. Rice was my first choice on RealSelf and my second consultation. He is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon. That means his expertise is everything to do with the face. Many of the other qualified doctors on the site offered to head to toe services. That could be a facelift or a tummy tuck. In my humble opinion that may make them good enough but good enough is not good enough for my face. No one would ever notice a less than perfect job on your tummy tuck. But your face is on display everywhere you go. It just doesn't make any sense to me to trust my face to someone who isn't famous for being awesome at faces! I was so impressed with him and his staff that I canceled the other appointments and scheduled my surgery with The Esthetics Center. I wrote a separate review of my experience with Dr. Rice and his staff BEFORE my surgery and I encourage you to read that as well. I didn't want my rave review of the staff or Dr. Rice's professionalism, presentation and expert advice to get lost in the shuffle of my review on my actual results. Results are everything, but then again...they aren't everything. So much of cosmetic surgery is a tangled emotional web of fear, anxiety, self-doubt, hope, and expectations. If your doctor and his/her staff don't help you address those too, your experience and journey will be far more difficult even if you are ultimately satisfied with the results. I just can't say enough about how much trust was inspired by Dr. Rice, Tammy Bub (Patient Procedure Coordinator) and Kari Eide (Patient Care Coordinator). Dr. Rice agreed the C02 Laser Resurfacing was the best option to address the issues that bothered me most about my skin. We discussed and compared it to the other popular lasers available (Fraxel, Erbium...) but we agreed Full Face C02 Laser resurfacing was the best option for me. He also recommended a brow lift and upper bleph. This would make my eyes and brows even and move them back up where they belonged. Initially, I decided to not do the bleph because of the added expense but on the day of surgery, I changed my mind. It was the right decision and I would have regretted it terribly if I hadn't done it. One of the truly WONDERFUL things about The Esthetics Center is how well they help you prepare for your upcoming procedure(s). Tammy gave me a shopping list of things I would need, detailed instructions for pre and post-op care, and every pro-tip she knew for making recovery as comfortable and successful as possible. She also provided me with an entire regimen of nutrition supplements to optimize my immune system and reduce bruising and swelling! I left my pre-op appointment with ALL this plus the prescriptions I would need for anti-biotics and pain ALREADY FILLED. Can you believe that? Awesome! No one can truly prepare you for how you're going to experience something you've never experienced before and the post-op C02 Laser, plus brow lift, plus bleph was a wild ride for a couple of days. The pain medication provided was more than adequate and the pain only lasted a few days. The brow lift triggered a couple of weeks of migraine headaches but I had medication for that on hand. My worst memories are of the unrelenting grossness of a full 1/2 inch of Aquaphor slathered all over my face. It was difficult to sleep but Dr. Rice had been thoughtful enough to include medication for that as well. I looked a fright for the first few days. My poor grandsons may well be scarred for life and in retrospect, I wish they hadn't seen me like that. For some reason the swelling made my face look square and they were worried I was going to look like a Minecraft Character for the rest of my life. Thankfully that didn't last too long. I learned to love Aquaphor and kept a jar near me at all times. When my skin itched I put on more Aquaphor. When it burned I put on more Aquaphor. When it felt a little dry I put on more Aquaphor. I became so dependent on it I found it hard to give it up! Hard to imagine! By the end of 2 weeks, my skin was still fragile but well healed. I could see how beautiful it was! I was absolutely amazed. I don't like admitting it, but I spent a lot of time looking in the mirror! It just seemed too good to be true. All the age spots were gone. All the heavy texture was gone. The lines were gone. The deep creases all around my mouth that made me feel so old and ugly were almost completely gone! It was more than I had hoped it would be. And my eyes!!!! Oh my goodness, my eyes! With my brow lifted and my heavy lids cut down to size I look so much younger! And younger wasn't really what I was after. I just want to be as pretty as I can be for a 58-year-old woman. But I don't look 58 anymore! I look better today than I did a decade ago. How awesome is that? So here I am 9 weeks post-op. Fully healed and very happy. I chose the right doctor and the best procedures to give me unbelievably wonderful results. Perfect? Nah. Nothing is perfect. I have a few slightly visible lines left on one side of my mouth. I don't think they are noticeable to anyone but me though. Plus I know how to get rid of them if I really want to! There is a tiny skin bump that sometimes happens in eyelid surgery but it's small and it doesn't bother me. My eyes aren't a perfect symmetrical match - but that's unrealistic anyway. I've been studying the people I see on TV and realize MOST people have one eye slightly smaller than the other. What matters is that nearly every trace of age and damage has been erased and I feel pretty again. My confidence in my appearance has risen dramatically. I feel great! I plan to protect my investment by continuing to use high-quality skincare and keeping the sun off my face. For ev er.
Came to Esthetician Center in El Dorado Hills for the first time with a friend . We met Dr. Rice and his assistants. They were amazing. I was nervous but they made us feel comfortable, and spent a lot of time explaining everything. They are all so nice and professional. I have returned many times since and will continue to do so. I have also recommended them to others.
The best tools in my tool box for peri-oral wrinkles is to soften the wrinkle-making muscle with Botox and resurface with CO2 laser. Yes it has the longest downtime, but high energy=longer downtime=better results.
Go get Pico laser treatments--yes, it will take a while, but a scar is overly aggressive and will leave a large scar to get around that tattoo.
You look like you have been taking care of your skin-I can't see the sun damage you refer to, so--keep it up. Use good products! Make sure you also prevent deepening wrinkles with regular Botox sessions--they work! You would benefit from temple, nasolabial fold, and maybe a little (natural) lip filler placement to add more youthful looking volume. I always recommend starting with baby steps-Botox and fillers are easy, low risk way to maintain (or achieve) a more youthful appearance.
I recommend (and do) buccal fat pad reduction with submental liposuction often. It makes since as you will already be in the procedure room and the areas will recover at the same time. I often will do these with a chin implant at the same time.Go for it!
You certainly can have fat grafting to replace the asymmetrically removed fat. Yes, it may take more than one session as not all the fat transferred survives the transfer process. Another option is a new product called Renuva which is an injectable composed of adipose allograft matrix with collagen, proteins, and growth factors derived from donated and purified fat. This stimulates your body's stem cells to make more of your own fat. A bit pricey, but--no surgery.
