If you have an issue with using minoxidil such as itching or redness follow up with your doctor. You have have an allergic reaction
Hello,You're itching may be a combination of the recent surgery and minoxidil use. After surgery the healing area can become quite itchy and this subsides with time. If you are new to minoxidil use, up to 50% of men have some itching with use of the product but by 6 months to a year for most this resolves. There are medications that can be prescribed to help with the itching. I would recommend talking with your hair transplant surgeon about your issues so they can evaluate you and best advise you. Best of Luck!Dr. Rednam
However, you may also be having a reaction. It is a good idea to go in for a follow up sooner then later for something like this.
It would be helpful to know whether you have used minoxidil before your surgery. Some people can find they experience an itchy scalp with minoxidil. This can settle if you reduce the frequency of application to 2-3 times a week and increase again as your scalp starts to tolerate it. Ultimately, it is important to use the minoxidil daily (ideally twice a day but once can be ok) in order to avoid the shedding that can be experienced when it is started and stopped frequently. An itchy scalp is common after a hair transplant as things heal and settled down. It would be wise to see your doctor to ensure that your scalp is looking healthy and that you don't have folliculitis.
Many patients come to my practice with this problem without ever even having a hair transplant. Some people's skin become very sensitive to the minoxidil which results in redness, itching, flaking, and strange sensations. Best to show this to your doctor and see what he says.
I recommend that you neverscratch the graft area as it will cause grafts to come out and introduce thepossibility of infection. The medications HPR + HydroGel work well for itchingand you can get the reference from your doctor or call 1-844-genRx2u to get themedications.
Yes, after a month or so, 95% of people will lose 95% of the grafts by the end of the first month only to find them regrow at 4-6 months later.
These areas form crusts which connect to the grafts. Good washing is critical. A regular hair transplant should be washed at the day after the procedure with regard to the recipient area, but the FUE donor area note that it has open wounds which require daily washing with soap and water. Within ...
I would go back to your doctor and ask him these questions. The donor area does look sparse so I would ask your doctor about this look.
