Exceptional clinic

I have had 2 previous FUT surgeries in the UK which were terrible, with unsatisfactory results and a poor level of care, this from so called "top" clinics.I had almost given up on any further surgery in the UK as it is a minefield of polished salesmen and incompetent and indifferent surgeons. After much research and consultations with all the prominent clinics in the UK I came across Dr Ball at the Maitland Clinic. Dr Ball from the Maitland Clinic is an exceptional surgeon, i found him to be caring, competent and highly ethical, he has lead his team to have the same ethos and frankly they left no stone unturned to try to achieve the best possible outcome for me.I had a consultation some time ago and Dr Ball was not happy to go ahead due to my poor scalp health and he felt this needed to be treated before surgery could be considered. This was never picked up by any of the previous consultations, which generally involved the surgeons running their hands through my hair and being aloof when asked questions. Dr Ball used a magnified camera to assess my scalp and likely graft yield and provided a detailed appraisal talking about alternatives to surgery, and strategies to improve my scalp health for optimal results. I found him to be a very caring and ethical individual who is not financially driven and puts patient’s interest first, it was apparent to me that he wanted the best possible result for me. His team David and Jana Shafer (clinical director) are exceptional in their field. After the consultation I bombarded David (who is an exceptional patient advisor ) with a barrage of questions and queries which were responded to immediately and without ever making me feel that it was too much trouble. I had another consultation after measures were taken to improve my scalp health and subsequently had a FUT procedure in July 2019. The whole team were so caring and professional throughout the day. The sectioning of the grafts under microscope is an essential part of the procedure and the technicians were focused and tireless in their work, Jana is a world renowned clinical director. There was no rush in any part of the day and it seemed the focus of the whole team was to achieve the best possible result regardless how long it took. Dr Ball only treats one patient a day and hence I was the full focus of the team. In my opinion Dr Ball is a caring, ethical and highly skilled surgeon with a real passion for his profession.

Fut Hair Transplant at Maitland Clinic.

Amazing Experience from world class surgical team. I had my fut procedure with Maitland clinic on Wednesday 12th June 2019. The procedure started around 7:30 am. Yidi(i hope i wrote the name correctly) and Morgan took my blood pressure test and Lunch order. Then they explain gently how the procedure will go. The way they talked with me and explained everything it was soooo caring and made me feel i am the most important person to them. After that they took me to Surgical room where Dr Ball getting prepared for my procedure he introduced me to rest of the team members. They all very professional, all in full surgical clothing. Very clean and tidy surgical room same time relaxing atmosphere. First step antibacterial hair wash then Dr Ball carefully trim the donor area which is after the stitching completely invisible. Local anesthetic was the most scary part to me but Dr Ball and his team made it sooo comfort for me. It was little painful but bearable. Then the fut strip carefully taken out by Dr Ball and stitching done by Dr Ball. What can i say about Dr Ball in a simple way,He is Master Of Perfection and Patient Caring. He will not let you go out from his procedure room untill he feels it's done most perfectly and his team follow same ideology. The amount of time he spent with me for pre operation consultant most doctor don't even spent that amount time for procedure. I have sooooo much respect for him and his team. Everyone is very polite, welcoming ,comforting and making sure am i ok and am i feeling any discomfort. Incisions done my Dr Ball while my hair grafts carefully been separated under Microscopes by Georgi and Mo . They are such nice persons doing one of the most important part of the surgery,in the background throughout the day. After the incisions it was time for lunch. Thank you Morgan for the lovely lunch it was refreshing. Throughout whole day there was more then plenty of snacks and drinks but I wasn't that interested on eating I don't know why . I also needed minor mustache repair,i say minor but this is when I came to realise how Amazing Dr Ball is. He was carefully extracting graft from my beard one at a time and placing it to my mustache area for repair. Making sure the graft is on right place, right direction, and hair shaft is perfect position for that place. That took Dr Ball more than hour and i can see and feel how he is planning and thinking which graft to go where,i am sooo Amazed. After that grafts placement time on my scalp. It was done by every single member of the surgical team including Dr Ball and Janna Shafer. Janna Shafer she is the clinic director of the Maitland clinic and whole day she was tiredlessly making sure my surgery goes smoothly. At one point i wasn't feeling well and needed a break they stopped everything and made sure that i ok. Mo made me tea it was perfect cup of tea, thank for your hospitality. Because of I wasn't feeling well they had to stop everything it took till 10 pm to finish the grafts placement. And not a single member of that entire team showed any sign of tiredness and I felt they want to do more for me. At the end of surgery i wasn't feeling well again so Dr ball,Janna Shafer and Mo stayed till late to comfort me.i cant thank you guys enough. Janna and Dr ball personally drop me of to my hotel room and made sure i am ok. I HAVE NEVER BEEN LOOKED AFTER THAT MUCH IN MY LIFE . THANK YOU SOOO MUCH Maitland Clinic Team,i am very grateful to you. YOU GUYS ARE THE WORLD'S BEST. If i could give 5000 star review i would of and it won't be enough. Updated on 18 Jun 2019: Hair transplant at Maitland clinic. Week 1 update,3036 Grafts,Fut procedure. Hairline design, grafts placement and donor area scar. Aim to achieve scrub free scalp by next week. So far very pleased with everything.

Best Hair Clinic in the UK

I came to the Maitland clinic and Dr Edward Ball via a glowing recommendation from a friend. I decided to take the plunge this year with a transplant. I then experienced a superb experience from start to finish. An incredibly professional clinic and I cannot fault their knowledge, advice about treatment options, products and future planning for my hair. Their medical standards for surgery/treatments are without doubt for me, higher than other countless clinics in the UK & abroad. Initially David Anderson was my first point of contact who is 'Senior Patient Advisor' and is absolutely on the pulse of current knowledge, treatments (as of course is Edward Ball & the team once I met them) protocols (and their success rates) and he answered ALL my questions and set me at ease; after researching the process for years and years – it became a little overwhelming for me to understand things, David completely changed that for me. Everyone is friendly, approachable and it was like meeting old friends: from David, to the medical staff/nurses to Edward himself. I travelled to Portsmouth for both my initial consultation (as I preferred to meet both David & Edward) and of course for my procedure later. Just 2 hours away for me. Although you might think of London or Harley Street as an indicator of getting the best, I would say a recommendation sits much higher for me and it was a pleasure to visit and stay in Portsmouth actually, the clinic is currently in a large new build business complex and overlooks a super lake and forest vista - super relaxing. The whole team and the aftercare were first class and they even refunded me some of my payment for the transplant as Doctor Ball used less grafts - what other company would do that? I have stayed as a patient and have opted for continued PRP therapy as part of my maintenance. I give the Maitland clinic full marks for their service, care and aftercare and I am sure they will continue to set the standard for the industry.

Best hair transplant clinic in the UK

After much searching and consideration that occurs in finding the right doctor for a hair transplant I decided on Dr. Ball. I had at least 10 consultations with other hair transplant clinics before meeting Dr. Ball and after meeting him it was clear that he had the patient's wellbeing was of utmost importance- where as with other Doctors and consultants this did not seem to be the case for various reasons. After our initial meeting I was put at ease and made to understand what my realistic goals were for the transplant as obviously having hair loss is a stressful thing to have for some people. The surgery itself went amazingly and I only have good things to say of Dr. Ball and the rest of the staff at the Maitland clinic. Since my surgery I could not be happier with the results and I continue to speak to the team regularly 1 year after my FUE transplant. I would highly recommend anyone to use the Maitland Clinic services for the best results.

Excellent

I had an extremely helpful and informative consultation with Dr. Ball regarding PRP for hair loss. He was able to fully answer all my questions regarding the treatment and allay any concerns I had. I would recommend an appointment with him to anyone considering whether PRP may work for them.

The Best Hair Transplant Surgeon: 350grafts FUE

I could not rate this doctor more highly. He is an experienced and well trained Hair Transplant Surgeon with all the official accolades, having trained with some of the world's leading Hair Surgeons. He is a credit to the industry, which is unfortunately plagued with many cowboys. I have been researching Hair transplantation techniques for many years and met many Hair Transplant Surgeons before choosing him. He and his team have provided an excellent service and result.

26year Old Female FUT for Hairline Lowering.

I am a 26 year old Female and I had my FUT with Dr Edward Ball just over two months ago. It is my second FUT but first with Dr Edward Ball. The procedure was to lower my hair line which has always been high, the first surgery I had with a different clinic I was unhappy with the results as it left me with a sparse and unnatural hairline. Dr Edward Ball always stood out for me and I did want him to do my first procedure but I was naive and let another clinic sales pitch talk me into getting it done with them. For the second time I knew to go with my gut and I do not regret it. The experience from start to finish with the Maitland Clinic has been fantastic. The consultation was very in depth, it did not feel like a sales pitch or that they were trying to sell me some unrealistic results. After meeting with David Anderson and Dr Ball for the consultation i knew 100% I wanted to book with them. The lead up to the surgery the Matiand Clinic kept in contact and gave me all the information I needed. The morning of surgery everyone at the clinic was amazing and put me at such ease. Dr Ball spent a decent amount of time perfecting my hairline and then I went in for the procedure. The numbing is the most painful part of the day, and it really isn't that bad. Defiantly take advantage of all the free chocolates and movies. On the day Dr Ball, Janna Shafer and the rest of the team were so friendly and professional I couldn't fault them. The first evening isn't exactly great, I slept in a recliner chair with a neck pillow and managed to get a few hours sleep. Defiantly have a decent breakfast the next morning, I was sick the next day but that was due to not eating properly. For the after care just stick with it, it might seem bit of a pain at the time but totally worth it and it before you know it your back to normal life. Janna was great organising my stitch removal, I moved to Canada just a week after the procedure so she organised for my stitch removal in Canada and stayed in contact with me after to check how it all went. It is still early doors and I wont know the full results for a while however I am feeling a lot more confident after this procedure. Overall the Dr Ball and whole team at Maitland have been awesome and I cannot thank them enough. Genuinely friendly and caring people who are amazing at what they do. I cant wait for the months to come to see the results. THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!

Fantastic Experience – 4 days post op with Dr Ball at the Maitland Clinic – Portsmouth, GB

I am four days post op after having 2339 grafts FUE performed at the Maitland Clinic in Portsmouth. I am hugely impressed with Dr Ball and his team and could not be happier with my experience with them thus far. After much research online, I narrowed my search for a hair transplant surgeon down to a few UK Doctors. I met with Dr Ball and David Anderson (senior patient advisor) in May. I found them both to be very professional and easy to talk to. There was a clear attention given to the client with an honest emphasis on long-term planning for hair restoration without any sales push. I subsequently contacted previous clients of Dr Ball for references and it became clear to me that Dr. Ball was a not only a leader in hair restoration in the UK based on ability but an ethical Doctor who had the best interests of his clients at heart. On July 31, I underwent surgery and it was a very smooth ride. I felt almost no pain throughout the procedure and was able to watch a few films and even fell asleep for part of it. Dr Ball was involved in the whole process, making all incisions and extracting all the grafts. Janna Shafer inserted the grafts into the recipient area with the help of 2 assistants. The whole team are meticulous in their work and are a very friendly, collaborative group. After surgery, I was thrilled at how clean the work looked. Three days on from surgery and no one could tell anything has been done to my donor area and the new grafts are healing very well (pics attached are 3 days post op). I have had no pain or irritation post surgery. I would highly recommend Dr Ball to anyone considering a hair transplant.

Full Head of Hair Restored - Portsmouth, GB

I had been thinning on top for seven or eight years and the patch was affecting my confidence. A great deal of research led me to Dr Ball and his team. I had high hopes and indeed high expectations, and they were comfortably exceeded. I had an FuE procedure involving 1,340 grafts, which were extracted and implanted over the course of about 10 hours. The day itself was a breeze. I was not so much looked after as pampered - with food, cakes, chocolate - and whiled away the time watching Netflix while the team worked on my scalp. It felt more like a mini-holiday than a surgical procedure. That said, I felt nothing but the deepest respect for the professionalism, skill and attention to detail of Dr Ball, Janna and the team. They worked unstintingly through the day with true dedication to create a result that, nine months on, I couldn't be happier with. As expected, I experienced some shedding following the operation, but most if not all of the hairs have grown back. As a result, I now have excellent coverage in the area where the thin patch once was. No more need for nanofibres or other cover-up solutions. The skin has healed perfectly, and there's not the slightest sign that a procedure has ever taken place. I was apprehensive before the operation because this is a surgery, after all, and I've always believed you only go under the knife if you absolutely have to. But I needn't have worried and am glad I took the plunge. If you are losing your hair and can afford the expense of an FuE procedure, I could't recommend Dr Ball and the Maitland Clinic more highly. FUE Treatment at the Maitland Clinic - Hampshire, GB

I’ve recently had ~2000 FUE grafts implanted in my crown area by Dr Edward Maitland Ball and his team at the Maitland Clinic in Hampshire, UK. It was such a positive experience that I’m pleased to offer this review. I recently turned 60 years of age and I’ve been losing my hair for the past 15 years or so. It started to go around the crown region but in recent years my hairline has also been receding and the hair at the front thinning. I had been circling the idea of a hair transplant for a number of years but turning 60 seems to have been the trigger for me to take the plunge. I actually had two consultations with Dr Ball, separated by a period of a year. Essentially it took me that time to fully digest the options presented to me in the first consultation. I weighed up the pros and cons of long-hair versus short-hair FUE, the impact on my daily life of an unusually short hairstyle, whether keeping it a secret from workmates was a priority, the financial cost, and, ultimately as far as I was concerned, whether I trusted the surgeon to do a good job. I would be walking around with it for the rest of my life so I couldn‘t afford any disasters. For me it took a year before all of those pieces of the jigsaw fitted into place. In the end I opted for short-hair FUE - right down to the wood though slightly longer on top. A characteristic of Dr Ball’s approach is that he doesn’t promise miracles, instead he gives you an honest, realistic appraisal of what you can hope to achieve. He also gives you his undivided time and attention in contrast to some other clinics where the first time you might meet your surgeon is on the day of the procedure itself. On top of everything else Dr Ball is a personable chap; friendly, a good listener, and open to your point of view. Rather than give a blow by blow account of the procedure, I’d rather focus on a few general points: Firstly, I was struck by how well organised the whole procedure was. Absolutely everything was catered for, from my lunch preferences through to detailed aftercare instructions with all the necessary meds provided. The process has obviously been refined over many cycles and the team has it down to a fine art. The team is led by Dr Ball but is four/five strong in total. Janna, Clinic Director, plays a key role but everyone else has an important part to play too. They were like a well-oiled machine as they went about their business fulfilling their individual roles, meticulously, patiently, and with dogged perseverance. Very much a team effort albeit under Dr Ball‘s watchful eye. A word of praise too for David, the Senior Patient Adviser, who was my initial point of contact and acted as my interface with the medical team. Everyone was genuinely friendly and caring about my welfare. We shared quite a few laughs and I was even allowed control of the TV remote (there was a wide selection of the latest films to choose from)! It was actually an enjoyable experience and I would even go so far as to say it was one of the most memorable days of my life. As to the financial side of things, flexibility and value for money sum up my experience of the Maitland. The team’s paramount concern was to do the best restoration job possible and indeed I think they went over and above the call (e.g. in terms of numbers of grafts and length of shift). There was no sense that I was just another paying customer, instead quality of the restoration was the top priority. I won’t know how effective my procedure has been for a few months yet but I’m already certain that in opting for the Maitland Clinic I’ve given myself the best chance of a successful outcome. If I still have donor capacity left I’ll be back for more.
