I had hair transplantation 5 days ago and my head is still full of traces of dried blood , should I be worried about this or is it normal and doesn't effect the growth of the new grafts? And how much time should these traces take to fall off ? I will be thankful if I get an answer soon
Answer: Some blood or scabbing is normal after any surgery. If you are concerned it is best to check with your doctor for an exam. Some blood or scabbing is normal after any surgery. Answer: Hair Transplant - early post-op management I would recommend to use a combination of daily vaseline ointment and saline spry to thin the crusts down. This will reduce the chances of infection and eventually grafts loss. Obviously you should discuss this with your plastic surgeon

Answer: Scabs following a hair transplant It is normal to have a dot of scab at the base of each grafted follicular unit during the first few days post op. Has your doctor given you an aftercare spray to keep the grafts moist and clean? I tend to use liposomal ATP as an aftercare spray every 30 minutes during the first few days. We find that it can keep the grafted area really clean so that many patients can return to work after a week after their surgery with minimal evidence of their hair transplant. I encourage conditioner soaks and contact hair washes from the 6th post-operative day. This tends to remove any remaining scabs by day 10. It would be wise to clarify your own doctor's aftercare routine with them in person.

Answer: No problem As always check with your doctor, but dried blood 5 days after an HT usually just means you are not washing enough or properly. VERY common and usually nothing to worry about. Either way, it has no affect on the grafts which are deep in the skin. HOWEVER, that dry blood CAN become a breeding ground for bacteria so you want to start washing the area as per your doctors instructions. You should be right as rain.Grow well and heal well.

Answer: Traces of blood in recipient area 5 days after transplant These areas form crusts which connect to the grafts. Good washing is critical. A regular hair transplant should be washed at the day after the procedure with regard to the recipient area, but the FUE donor area note that it has open wounds which require daily washing with soap and water. Within 3 days of surgery, you can resume full activities, heavy exercises if you wish with FE, not with a strip surgery. The recipient area requires daily washes as well to keep the recipient area free of crusts. I generally recommend the use of a sponge and supply my patient with a surgical sponge to fill with soapy water and press on the recipient area daily. By repeating this daily, all crusts can be washed off without any fear of losing grafts. IF any crust are present, use a Q tip and dip it into soapy water, and roll it on the crusts and that will lift them off without dislodging them, but never rub them, just roll the Q tip on the recipient crust. I like to see no evidence of any crusting in the recipient area and the crusts from the donor area gone in 7-10 days with daily washing,.
