Answer: Redness after microneedling I'm finding that a lot of people out there are being overly aggressive with microneedling leaving potential for scarring. You should not have redness after 24-48 hours after your procedure if done by an experienced provider. With that being said, there are a few options you can do. First is witch hazel. It has intrinsic anti-inflammatory properties that can calm down some of the inflammation. An alternative is a product called Tend Skin which is meant for calming down folliculitis after shaving or waxing. It has anti-inflammatory medication within the solution, so it is particularly good after procedures. There is alcohol in it also, so it may burn slightly. A third option which I keep in my office is a product called CliniCalm by PCA which has hydrocortisone as a component which helps to sooth and calm down the skin after chemical peels, laser treatments, or microneedling. Any one of these options should speed up improvement of redness. Best of luck to you! Sarah Saxon, MD

Answer: Redness post Microneedling Thanks for your message! You can use OTC hydrocortisone cream to reduce the redness. It is important to keep the area well hydrated during the healing process HA5 is an excellent option. If no tenderness or irritation occurs you can also use make up to cover up the redness. The redness should self resolve within a week after treatment. PRP is also great to use post procedure to speed healing. Hope this information helps!

Answer: Microneedling w/PRP Hi Srinivas_95,Usually by day 3 after microneedling + PRP the redness and swelling subsides. Using an epidermal repair cream after the PRP is finished also aids in quicker healing and patient comfort. Also it is very important is to drink lots of water and no strenuous exercise. I recommend rest the day of treatment and the day after. By day 3, patient may return to all activities and products.Best to you,

Answer: Redness and healing after microneedling It is normal to have some redness after microneedling. The addition of PRP can help reduce redness and speed healing. You shjould be fine to wear make up in 24-48 hours if you need to cover a bit of redness. I hope this helps. Lana Long MD

Answer: Redness After Microneedling With PRP Hi srinivas_95, Redness and flaking may last for a week post microneedling, so what you are experiencing is normal. Some skincare products help with healing - such as TNS serum. All the bet, Justin Harper, M.D.
