Breakout after microneedling with PRP?! My entire face is covered in whiteheads. (Photos)

Question

I had Micro Needling with PRP done 3 days ago and my entire face is covered in white heads that have pus in them.. Other than that my skin is peeling and I see the nice new skin underneath but are all these white heads also normal post micro needling?

This can be typical after microneedling. It is normal to have swelling and/or redness after microneedling for a few days and this is due to inflammation and histamine release. If it doesn't resolve in a few days, please consult your Doctor.  I find adding PRP decreases redness and swelling more quickly and we like to do microneedling with lasers to get better outcomes.  Best, Dr. Emer

Yes, this is common in some skin after microneedling + PRP. No need to worry. This will clear up very quickly. Use a warm compress before cleansing and it should help release the pockets. If you have concerns I would recommend following up with your provider.Best to you,
