tretinoin doesnt need to be stopped before microneelding. I suggest you be on a well planned treamtment plan before starting your cosmetic treatments. Best, Dr. Emer.
If the patient has only recently begun the tretinoin, I recommend stopping the tretinoin for 5-7 days prior to treatment. If the patient is a long time user of tretinoin, then I allow as short as 2 days to minimize the redness after the microneedling. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Hello Mrslim7,You do not have to stop tretinoin prior to being treated with microneedling. It is perfectly safe. I do recommend using PRP with all microneedling treatments to aid in quicker healing and optimal results.Hope this helps,
I like to have my patients hold on the Tetrinoin 2-3 days prior to microneedling because the skin might be more sensitive, but Tetrinoin will not interfere with the microneedling results.
Hi mrslim7,Avoid any known skin irritants such as retinoids, tretinoin, and alpha hydroxyl acids 3-5 days prior to microneedling treatment unless otherwise directed by your clinician. These agents can make skin more sensitive. If you have skin conditions, psoriasis, cystic or inflammatory acne or cold sores, inform your clinician. All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
My standard protocol is stop 2 days before, just in case of skin irritation. Your plastic surgeon or dermatologist may have a different protocol , check with them. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
An aesthetician is licensed to treat patients with a microneedling device. A dermatologist or a plastic surgeon do perform microneedling treatment in their practices but do not perform them an Aesthetician would perform the treatment.
In our practice we would not treatment anyone with any type of treatments as mild as the treatment may be if the patient is on Accutane. Because your skin is sensitive, as mild as the treatment is, it can result in scaring or more damage to the skin. Accutane thins out and dry’s the skin, it s...

Acne scars can be a tough thing to treat. In my experience we have had great results with with doing a series of Microneedling treatments and alternating them with a Sublative laser treatment. The Microneedling triggers the body to make new collagen and elastin. Then the Sublative laser is a...
This needs an in-person evaluation. I recommend getting a formal consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Keep in mind, stretch marks need a combination approach to get the most improvement. I recommend a combination of microneedling/prp, lasers (Erbium/Fraxel Laser, Excel V, Pulsed Dye La...
