tretinoin doesnt need to be stopped before microneelding. I suggest you be on a well planned treamtment plan before starting your cosmetic treatments. Best, Dr. Emer.
If the patient has only recently begun the tretinoin, I recommend stopping the tretinoin for 5-7 days prior to treatment. If the patient is a long time user of tretinoin, then I allow as short as 2 days to minimize the redness after the microneedling. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Hello Mrslim7,You do not have to stop tretinoin prior to being treated with microneedling. It is perfectly safe. I do recommend using PRP with all microneedling treatments to aid in quicker healing and optimal results.Hope this helps,
I like to have my patients hold on the Tetrinoin 2-3 days prior to microneedling because the skin might be more sensitive, but Tetrinoin will not interfere with the microneedling results.
Hi mrslim7,Avoid any known skin irritants such as retinoids, tretinoin, and alpha hydroxyl acids 3-5 days prior to microneedling treatment unless otherwise directed by your clinician. These agents can make skin more sensitive. If you have skin conditions, psoriasis, cystic or inflammatory acne or cold sores, inform your clinician. All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
My standard protocol is stop 2 days before, just in case of skin irritation. Your plastic surgeon or dermatologist may have a different protocol , check with them. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
An aesthetician is licensed to treat patients with a microneedling device. A dermatologist or a plastic surgeon do perform microneedling treatment in their practices but do not perform them an Aesthetician would perform the treatment.
Impossible for a constructive comment, as we did not know how the procedure was performed, needle depth, passes, and the type of acne scars targeted. Microneedling is a general not targeted form of scar revision. In context of Accutane, it is safe (JAMA journal 2017, ASDS consensus) however ...
Microneedling is a good treatment for scars. Usually one needs 3-6 sessions performed three weeks apart. Best results are achieved when PRP is used with microneedling. It takes 6-8 weeks for a new collagen fiber to come to the skin surface. Collagen is not produced every ten years rather every...
Acne scars are usually characterized within the subtypes of atrophic, hypertrophic, pigmented, or inflammatory. These subtypes of acne scars can be visually discerning in ambient light and can cause significant cosmetic concerns. Indented and atrophic scars require a combination approach to...
This is a very important question! Microneedling is a safe and effective procedure that works incredibly well for treating acne scars. In your case, I recommend that you couple it with PRP to get the most efficient results and see a board-certified dermatologist for complete care.
I would definitely have this followed up by the practitioner who did your treatment. I have had 1 case of a dermatitis post microneedling, come to find out the patient was reacting to the serum we gave her to use post tretment. Once she stopped the serum, and we started her on a steroid cream,...
