While breast size can be inherited from your parents, it is possible that you might end up with small breasts despite everyone else in your family having larger breasts. At 16, it is possible that your breasts will become bigger as you mature. Surgeons do not usually recommend augmentation until you are older and physically mature.
Hello Neyhh thanks for your question. At 16 years of age it is likely that you will still have breast development as you have not yet completed your growth. It is very common for women in the same family to have very different breast sizes. I know of numerous families where I performed breast reductions on sisters or a grandmother, mother and daughter and the other sister had A or B cup breasts. I would not suggest that you even consider augmentation, however if you are it is definitely premature as implants are not approved except for congenital deformities/reconstruction until you are at least 18 for saline and 22 for silicone implants. I hope this helps, regards. Dr. Joseph Eby
Unfortunately, even though the genes we get from our parents are very important in determining who and what we are, they ate not everything. At the end of the day, we are all unique and different. That is what mashed everyone so special! So I'm sorry that your breast are not g growing but first give it a couple more years and if they are still small - there is a simple solution!
Neyhh,Breast size inheritance is not as simple as looking at the females in you family, as some of the genetic input also comes from your father's side of your family. There is just no way to predict who will have larger breasts by assessing the other females in the family. I hope that this helps.
Itis very common for people in families to have different sized breasts. I do not personally recommend surgery at yourage. Unfortunately, unless you have acongenital deformity or tumor you probably should wait until you are 18. I have seen many patients who continued todevelop into their 20's so it is possible that your breasts will continue togrow.
