How long should I wait before going back to work as a personal trainer?
Answer: 6 weeks if you're going to exercise, too Generally, I recommend that patients start doing more intense physical activity at 3 weeks, and upper body strength exercises at 6 weeks after surgery. You can probably return to work in six weeks if you're going to be doing exercises as well. If you are just going to talk to your clients and not demonstrate any of the exercises, then you can return in a week or so. However, please ask your surgeon for their advice.

Answer: I am a personal trainer wanting to go back to work and train clients after breast augmentation...... Your plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to returning to your specific line of work. He/she will know how you are progressing and whether or not you have experienced any complications. Generally, most patients are able to return to a “desk job” within 5 to 7 days. More strenuous work, for example involving lifting or extensive upper body movement, will require more time off. In my practice, most personal trainers are able to return to work one week after breast augmentation surgery, assuming that they are mainly supervising, not demonstrating the planned work out etc. I ask patients to avoid heavy lifting for 4 to 6 weeks after surgery and avoid pectoralis major specific exercise (push-ups, bench press, flies…) for several months. I hope this helps.Best wishes.

Answer: Personal trainer wanting Breast Augmentation I tell women wait at least 3 weeks if going under the muscle with the implants. Some personal trainers opt for subglandular implants so they can return to work sooner and their work-out regimens sooner.Christopher Costanzo MD, Thousand Oaks, California Plastic Surgeon
