Fraxel laser on legs: what's the recovery like?

I'm having Fraxel laser on my legs for bad pigments. I'm wanting to know how bad the recovery is with it being on the legs instead of the face.

Fraxel can significantly improve the hyperpigmentation on your legs. Leg and arm skin heals more slowly than facial skin, so you will probably have about two weeks of redness and roughness. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who has experience using Fraxel to improve leg skin.

Fraxel is an amazing laser and takes only a few days to heal on the face.  Within five days you have beautiful clean skin after the laser.  The other areas of the body such as the chest, arms, and legs, take a little longer to heal and can fee like fine "sand paper" for up to two weeks. The Fraxel laser "sees" your skin in pixels and may not remove isolated brown spots completely, but it will improve both the skin and pigment.  On legs and arms, the skin heals more slowly and it may take up to three weeks to heal depending on your state of health and age.  Seek the advice of an expert.  All the best to you.  Alexis Parker MD
