Is a Botox injection bump/welt normal after two and a half weeks? (Photo)

Question

I had Botox for my forehead two and a half weeks ago. One injection site, just above the inner point of one eyebrow has the bump that was a result of the injection. It is also itchy - again. The itchiness and swelling had gone and it has resurfaced.

Thank you for sharing your question.  I would recommend seeing your injector in follow up to identify the cause of the swelling. This may have been due to the injection causing a deeper seated bruise but it may also indicate ineffective paralysis of the musculature.  Hope this helps.

Though uncommon inflammatory reactions in any injection site may occur. Fortunately they resolve over time. If it persists follow up with your surgeon.

This is unusual but certainly does occur. It is probably part of  a muscle that has not been affected but if not gone in another week or so contact your doctor

this is likely due to an inflamation from the injection. It generally goes away with time. some gentle massage and warm compresses may help. if not return to your injector to discuss.

In general, most of the lumps, bumps and irritations that are the common by product of any injectable will resolve within 2 weeks. But every patient is unique. Give this another week and if it doesn't improve then see your injector. Best of luck.
