Should I ask for a refund of my tummy tuck? (Photo)

44yr mom of 3. Had weight loss surgery in 2015 highest weight 365, maintaining 215-210 for several years. Had consultation wanted Fleur de Lis but PS said no, said I would be happier with regular abdominoplasty and muscle repair results. 7mon PO. ln recovery he told husband I would need revision? I had partial hysterectomy at same time and he blames excess skin on that procedure at my one week FU appt. He has seen me 1X after surgery. He said 6lb skin removed, lower abdomen only. Ask for refund?

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from revision surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Based on the submitted photos a revision would improve your results.  A fleur de lis incision would have given more of an opportunity to address the skin laxity in the center of the abdomen.  I encourage you to begin by visiting with your surgeon to discuss your results and learn more about options.

Hello, thank you for the photos and question!  If I were you or you were my wife or family member I would be asking for some type of refund or revision to be done to remove the skin that is left.  The Fleur de Lis would have been the way to go.  Yes, with the Fleur de Lis you will have more scars, but you would have been able to remove most of the loose skin. Best of luck!

I believe more skin could be removed and I’m not sure if you had a full tummy tuck or just removal of the skin below the umbilicus. A fleur de lys would have not made a significant difference.  The extent of your tummy tuck  may have been limited because you were having a hysterectomy at the same time . That’s not aiways  a good idea

Hello! you can see a slight change, you should try to have your surgeon see you again and discuss a second surgery to achieve better results, a refund is not certain to be given to you, due to the expenses of surgery, anesthesia, and so on... but maybe an adjustment in the price of your next surgery.

Once you see your surgeon and discuss possible alternatives, you can seek a second opinion. It is always good to make this type of decision once an accurate diagnosis has been made and with a qualified and verified surgeon. You should also review the profile of said surgeon and see bodies similar to yours and the results of those surgeries.
