I am less concerned about the welts themselves than the long term implications, i.e. the procedure might not be effective because it was done too superficially. Thank you!
Answer: Ultherapy Welts this is "normal" for the superficial transducer. However, this also means that in the future you should see a more experienced provider. There will be no long term complications if you do the proper after care. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Welts after ultherapy The welts have no bearing on the longevity or success of results. The welts are likely from the use of the orange transducer, which is the most superficial one, so the heat that was generated from the ultherapy is placed more superficial so you can see the effects of whats happening. The depth of treatment is determined by your provider, from what is seen on the ultrasound, so maybe due to the thickness of your skin, the orange transducer was deemed appropriate and was used accordingly. The welts will resolve shortly and the results generated from the treatment can be evaluated about 4-6m after your

Answer: Temporary Welts after Ultherapy Ultherapy has different transducers, ranging in depth of penetration from 4.5 mm to 1.5 mm. When the most superficial transducer is used, occasionally, small temporary welts may occur as the contact with the transducer with the skin may have been too light, and so some of the energy was delivered a bit superficially. If a patient even coughs or swallows during a treatment of the neck, such slight movements could cause the transducer from having full contact with the skin. This will resolve. I usually apply ice to any welts noted during a procedure and they resolve within a few minutes.

Answer: Welts after Ultherapy These welts should have no long term consequence to your skin and should resolve within a few days. As for the effectiveness issue, the treatment depth is chosen based on what is viewed on the screen ultrasound image. For tightening, usually the green or blue transducers are used. The orange transducer helps more with skin texture improvements. Check with your doctor on the procedure details and it's likely they used two or three different depths over the same areas to help you get the best results.

Answer: Welts after Ultherapy Welts after Ultherapy is a very common phenomenon after using the 1.5 mm Orange Transducer. This head delivers energy/heat very superficially which can result in the welts. They usually completely resolve within 24 hours and the patient should be made aware that this can occur at the end of the procedure so they don't worry.
